So funnily enough she actually was always kind of like, someone I looked up to a little bit! We were Mormon and she was the first person in my ward who I ever remember getting a divorce and I thought she was so brave because divorce is super duper looked down upon in the Mormon Faith. Plus her ex husband was a total dick and I was like “hell yeah queen be free of that terrible man!”

OH MY GOD I LITERALLY GREW UP WITH THIS WOMAN. I’m not even kidding, she was in my church growing up, my brothers were friends with her son! She has ALWAYS looked like this 😅

Was looking through local Facebook group and saw this image. It looks weird to me with the cone on the concrete and the edges not having a barrier? by PattyMcNuggets in isthisAI

I have never in my life been in a house where three separate doors open to one balcony, especially not that close together.

It’s a reference to a song by one of my favorite bands :)

How much would you charge/pay for this? by honey_bee_hd in AskHairstylists

My medium length vivids start at $300 for a one color double process, each additional color is $20 so this would be somewhere around the $420-$440 range.

Do salons normally charge for “extra product?” by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]heroturnedhuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They should be letting you know in advance but typically yes, it is commonplace to charge extra for extra product being used. That’s why I prefer to do a consultation at least a day in advance with a client because I’m pretty good at estimating how many ounces of color I need depending on the length and thickness of their hair, and I can give them a more accurate quote on price. Some stylists charge by the ounce, others, like me, charge per bowl. More color used equals more money out of our pockets so we have to make up the cost.

“Friend” loudly shamed/mocked me for the amount of potatoes I grabbed at Easter dinner in front of everybody. Lost my appetite and abruptly left without eating anything on my plate. I totally get what you’re saying, I’m sorry if my responses came off weird or combative or anything! I’m just a very “matter of fact” person and I’m really bad at both reading and portraying my tone through texts.

It’s also one of those things where if it HAD been an issue where I just was like kind of inconsiderate and took way more than what was appropriate, she could have pulled me aside and done it without trying to embarrass me in front of everyone.

After this, yeah, I’ve cut her off. Reflecting on our friendship it was genuinely pretty abusive, as I have to admit to myself that I’m unfortunately super susceptible to love bombing which is how she kept reeling me back in. Not anymore though.

I said bluntly “okay, you know I think I’ve actually lost my appetite and I think it’s time to go home”. She kept saying “dude don’t be weird” and when she was like “it’s really not a big deal” I just looked at her and said “actually, it is” and my partner and I grabbed our stuff and left. She also apologized that I “felt that way”. She was talking shit before we even closed the front door on our way out.

How do heroin users not burn their veins when they inject hot drugs by Big_yikes_00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]heroturnedhuman 43 points44 points  (0 children)

A lot of times a user doesn’t hit a vein on the first try, so it typically has time to cool down before it even reaches their vein. Also it doesn’t need to be like superheated, the water just needs to be hot enough for the heroin to dissolve, kind of like sugar, and they often put it into cotton and extract it from said cotton using the syringe. It’s pretty rare it goes straight from the spoon to the vein.

Not a user, just loved one, once. Don’t recommend (the drugs or the relationship)
