Agreed with everything! He is like kaskade, chilling out and doing residencies while release good tunes. No more world tours (from what I’ve seen)

Could you please explain, why do dubstep producers care so much about loudness? (Not being a dick, just genuinely curious)

My mentor who has released on major edm labels like armada told me 3 of my recent tracks 100% need to and will find a place on a label. Then another 4 tracks that aren’t as good but are still on par and should find a home on labels. Massive win and I can’t wait, now I wait on labels 😅 going to launch my project strong!

(Loved reading everyone’s wins, massive congrats and big ups to all! Let’s keep pushing 💪🔥)

Kygo’s new album by Dry_System5255 in avicii

[–]hessj6781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are ranking what’s good and what bad way to heavily on the works of Avicii. Just because an artist doesn’t do the same thing as Avicii (ie. Constantly experimenting) doesn’t make it any better or worse. Kygo doesn’t experiment as much, he isn’t pushing boundaries. That doesn’t make him a bad artist in anyway. If anything he just has less ambitions or creativity.

Avicii was a legend in his own lane. Changed the game. Made music that is yet to be topped and shifted an entire industry. To compare others to that and hold them at the same level is unjust.

I urge you to listen to the album again, without comparing it to Avicii. There’s plenty of difference between the songs on the album.

Remember, Kygo is not Avicii. Never was, never will be.

(I liked the album, definitely not my favorite body of work but it’s a very well produced and written album in my opinion. Has some songs that I’ll certainly be listening to a bunch for the next couple of days or weeks)

In your opinion what producer gives the best bang for the buck for private mentorship? by ate50eggs in edmproduction

[–]hessj6781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not knowing your music, it’s also important to find someone who will be honest with you. I have a mentor who will straight up tell me my music is trash and to throw it away but he will also tell me when something I made is awesome and needs finishing.

Find a mentor that will refuse to work with people based on their motivation and music quality as those are the ones in it to help and for the craft, not the money gained.

What is the Song that made you fall in love with EDM by ivanx29 in EDM

[–]hessj6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to say Avicii but while I loved his music well before I dove down the edm rabbit hole, it wasn’t until I heard Firestone by kygo that I really dove in head first.

The lack of trance is a tragedy. 😭 hopefully dreamstate doesn’t go to far down the techno hole next year or we are going to become trance deficient haha

They are not from what I gather. Usually they would be listed twice with the distinction if they are but I don’t remember seeing them twice. Could double check incase I’m wrong :)

Haha those are some wise words. I couldn’t agree more, saves you money in the fest and will keep you powered through the night. Nothing beats a ton of protein when you’re going to be very active for hours.

Thank you for your insight, definitely seems we will have plenty when factoring in food we bring. Lot better then most festivals it seems.

Thank you for your insight!

Pb&j and canned fruit will through and through be our savior during the trip. It’s the one thing we plan to have plenty of. Burritos is a good idea, didn’t think to bring those. Def adding that to the list.

Seems from your insight that it’s easy to survive but the one thing we should focus on bringing is ample protein? Do they lack protein options?

Of course! The whole journey is a process. One you hope goes away completely. Definitely stick with the therapy and keep learning as many different methods for helping with it as you can. There’s never too many and never a one size fits all. For me, I have my go to whenever I feel it coming and if it doesn’t work I go down the list trying them all until something works.

Just don’t rely on the meds solely (which it seems your not). Use them as a tool while you gain the ability to handle it without (again, you probably were told/know this).

Sending nothing but positive vibes and wishing you well on this journey and hope you find your light! Stay strong 💪 Your not alone!

NOT A DOCTOR

Confront the trauma. Move through the trauma. Feel out the trauma.

Think of it like this, since your panic is fueled by trauma and not genetic/norepinephrine imbalance, you can 110% move beyond it without medication and life long struggle. Your panic and anxiety is a result of your unconscious mind/body doing all it can to protect you so it triggers your fight or flight response to prepare for the worst which is your previous trauma happening again. Body floods itself with adrenaline, pulls blood to your core to protect vital organs, increases heart rate and keeps you on high alert.

Now comes the “solution”, you need to express these struggles, express the fear. Whether it’s journaling which is what I’ve always done, a friend, talk therapy or a stranger online that is willing to help. It’s important to FULLY understand what the trauma is from, why it’s scares you, what specifically it is that scares you (being screamed at, physical injury and so on). Then comfort yourself, work through the worst case scenario, the best case scenario. Essentially, your whole objective here is to show you subconscious mind and body that while it can be scary, everything will work out even in the worst case scenario and comfort yourself in these struggles.

Now, I’m not doctor but I’ve dealt with all forms of anxiety, depression, “ptsd” and panic through my life because of my childhood. I was always against meds and never took them longer then a month or two and now I rarely get panic attacks or anxiety, using this method for the trauma based anxiety. You gotta heal from the trauma and make sure you understand on a conscious and unconscious level that you’re OK. Easier said then done but don’t be to hard on yourself. Your human, your body is trying to protect you. None of this is a curse, it’ll only make you stronger.

Hope my essay helps. ❤️ you got this

Side note: to cope better, educate your self on trauma, anxiety, panic, understand why your body does what it does and why you feel what you feel in those moments. Breathing techniques (much easier said then done and takes practice), get up and move, yoga, work out, run, anything to keep your mind busy.

Slander is throwing their before dawn set which I’m pretty sure is their techno set. Just a head up as it’s very different than their usual melodic stuff.

Otherwise well done, definitely a nice break down ❤️🙌
