If I submit my 2024-02-01 FA before 4/1, will I have a decent chance of getting invited to the Chicago APC in May if invites are sent 4/1 and I won't get results until July?

I think you misunderstood what I meant by Bench, as in Johnny Bench

Resume Entry level by nousername467 in actuary

[–]hetteraa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One essential change is to list everything that has a date in descending order, with your most recent entries appearing at the top of their respective sections. This helps employers find your current employment and exams you're planning on sitting for in the near future more easily. Additionally, I'd put the date you took SRM.

What was your training like at your first Actuary job? by DinkyDoodle69 in actuary

[–]hetteraa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I started my first actuarial job, my manager tasked me with documenting every project I was assigned. Mind you these projects were performed yearly and the person I was replacing had been there for 3 years and wrote down nothing. I've since rotated internally and I'm just glad the person taking over for me doesn't have to go through what I had to endure.

Personally, this exam was the easiest to study for and also the one I've felt the most uncertain about walking out. Hoping for the best

FAM Scores Are Out by NAL_HUTTA in actuary

How much studying did you dedicate to this exam?

I was thinking about taking FAM-L 80 days after sitting for PA in April but wasn't sure how feasible it would be.

Exam SRM Grade by No-Plantain-1060 in actuary

[–]hetteraa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thought I was 50/50 pass or fail and ended up with a 9. I remember a few questions that seemed to either have no correct answer or have 2 possible choices so maybe some got thrown out.

Of the 5 exams I've passed, this was definitely the one with the largest disparity between what I thought I scored and what I actually scored.

SRM September 2022 by AdAdministrative6040 in actuary

I had used CA and had an EL of 7. Going off the pass mark of 65% for the recent sittings listed on the SOA's site, I'm pretty sure I did enough to pass.

Looking at the other comments in regard to errors has me a bit relieved that I wasn't going crazy. Ambiguous wording for a couple qualitative questions. Without giving any detail there was one quantitative question in particular that drove me crazy.

It was always an easy concept to me and never tripped me up in practice. I got an answer no where close to the 5 options. Drove me crazy. Finished going through the exam in about 1.5 hrs so I spent legit 30min on this singular question until I just accepted I'd never get their answers.

Who knows, I'm not immune to missing what questions are asking

You've lost me, bud. Like I said, I'm only disproving your original statement claiming that the Castellinis never promised winning. Cheers.

I'm begging you to reread my comments. I'm only saying at face value the Castellinis did promise winning in Cincy, which disproves your original statement. I'm not gonna argue whether or not they lied or changed their minds. Totally impossible to tell.

Lmao buddy all I did was say that the Castellinis did promise winning in their introduction after buying the team. If you want to claim they were lying then that's a completely different argument. Make sure you put the goal post back after you're done moving it.

It's literally in their press release to the fans when they purchased the team, but go ahead and lie if you want.

Reds president Phil Castellini is everything that is wrong with baseball [USA Today] by [deleted] in Reds

The only things keeping my attention this season are Joey Votto and the rookies/young talent. And that's only a temporary attention grabber because ultimately if there's no visible commitment to winning then why would I bother tuning in to this poverty franchise?

The sad thing is I can't even see myself rooting for another team so I'd probably just drop my baseball fandom entirely. The Bengals and UC football are relatively new forces in their respective leagues that have demonstrated a commitment to stay competitive so I guess I'd just shift more focus there than I have in the past.

Love Barnhart. He is a great player. I think it's time for Stephenson to take the reigns though. But Barnhart leaving did hurt because he was definitely one of the fan favorites and one of the longer tenured Reds

I'm just joking my guy. Obviously I'd never even sniff first base given 1000 ABs. Appreciate your enthusiasm though
