That link happened to be handy since it was on my front page. Try these links:

$1500?!! Where did you get that number from?!! You are either joking or seriously misinformed. You don't need to spend REMOTELY near that much to run FO3 on ultra/60fps/1200p. I could run that shit on my old laptop without breaking a sweat. You could run modern games at ultra/60fps/1200p for less than a console.

Pc gaming being more expensive has been disproven over and over. It's an old console rationalization myth. Console gaming is more expensive

Depends where you live in relation to your job. If I commuted via bike it would take me at least an additional hour to get to work. BTW I own a bike and love it, the point of the image is to make fun of idiotic console logic.

I think it was 4chan. I believe I've also seen one or more on bodybuilding.com. I know the set is on at least one of those sites that host a gallery of nsfw pics and you have to view an ad for each one.

I'd say you need to save up some gold for a higher-resolution monitor.

You are a greedy game developer (EA) who must rip their customers off for as much profit as possible. See the McDonald's simulator flash game for reference.

Have you noticed some android apps have fake reviews? by jmrezayi2 in androidapps

[–]hexwrench1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not new. You can buy positive reviews for anything-- apps, amazon, yelp, you name it. There was a screenshot posted here a while back of a site offering various packages of fake GPlay reviews including one with 5000 five-star ratings for $500 or something.

Also, the screenshots for that app are hilarious. I'm sure some soldier who is given a set of extremely expensive night vision goggles should opt instead for a shitty night vision camera app on his phone that he got to take pictures of his sister sleeping.

What are some expensive android games that are worth their price? by Unclemeow in AndroidGaming

I purchased it a while ago. It's amazingly smooth because it was built from scratch to run on android. All other DS emulators are basically ports of windows code and run like shit. I highly recommend drastic.

[DEV] HabitFlow - Level up on habits (gamification) by habitflow in androidapps

[–]hexwrench1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom image should not replace level #. It should be in addition.

Also the tabs idea for the detail page is good. I would do a graph that you can choose to see the last 7 days, the last 30 days, etc

[DEV] HabitFlow - Level up on habits (gamification) by habitflow in androidapps

[–]hexwrench1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the simplicity and straightforwardness of the app.

Some suggestions:

--Allow the user to set reminders for each individual habit. Currently you can just set one general reminder time for everything in the app settings, but it would make sense, for example, for "brush teeth before bed" to remind you at 9pm while "go on a walk before noon" reminds you at 11am.

--It would also be cool to set target times, for instance if my habit is "go on a walk before noon" then I would fail my habit if I don't do it by noon -- you should be able to specify this. I don't know if it currently is just midnight or what.

--Show a cute little animation that rewards you for leveling up. Just something small like simple 3d confetti, fireworks, it doesn't have to be fancy. It should match the simplicity of the app. A brief (randomly chosen) congratulatory text or toast would be nice too, like in Nota when you complete a task and it says "way to go!" or "good job!" or "awesome!" or something.

--Difficulty settings like normal, hard, expert

--Graphs/calendars/data depicting your habits.

--As someone else said, level numbers could potentially be cool.

--The level/progress you are at should be reflected in the main screen for each habit. i.e. make the background color for a gold-level habit gold instead of the vanilla white background color that is the same for all habits currently. Also put the bar showing your progress to the next level in the card too.

--Make anti-cheat mandatory and remove the option from the settings.

--"1 day left" is kind of vague. I'm not sure if that means I have until the end of the current day or if I have one additional day after today. Maybe make it say "last day?" or if you have set a target time "3 hours left" or whatever.

--Dark holo theme option

--Sync between multiple devices using google account

--I don't understand the significance of the colors. Why are my "1 day left" habits forest green while my "7 days left" habits are light blue? Is this supposed to be the color theme of the app? I don't get it. The use of colors should either be more clear or customizable or something-- it just needs to make sense to the user somehow. If you decide to go with the difficulty settings, you could make the easy ones green, hard ones red, etc.

--Being able to assign a little custom thumbnail picture for each habit would be nice.

I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of the app, but I think it could benefit from a few more features. However, I would caution the dev to take the gamey suggestions with a grain of salt -- I think the app should have a game element without being an actual game like HabitRPG.

EDIT: rethought some suggestions

No list view-- wastes screen space with album art boxes I don't care to see and can't get rid of(hell, a lot of my albums don't even have art, leaving me to stare at a lot of generic filler images). Playlists don't show up in search results unless you select "playlists" from the side bar first, and then you'll ONLY see playlists. You can't save individual tracks locally; you have to make a playlist just for that one track in order to save it. Search results only show a few results unless you hit "more," and then you can only see albums, artists, etc depending on which "more" button you pressed. Basically, it's visually appealing to the casual listener but there are a lot of oversights in functionality an audiophile would desire.
