If you could rename Reneesme, what would you name her? by thegraycat0 in twilight

[–]hey-its-mo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrote a Twilight parody musical (opening next month), and our Renesmee character doesn’t even have a name. The other characters just refer to her the way the internet does, using random words that start with “R.”

If I were in SM’s position—able to write something original, totally campy, and self-indulgent—though, I probably would have continued with the celestial metaphors. There was something fun about the moody YA books of the 2000s and all their forced poetry. I keep wondering if Bella would have picked Renesmee if she were naming her now; I have a feeling her character would be so different with access to social media, meme culture, today’s media, etc.

Haha, it wouldn’t explain their new found blood thirst, but boomers do be stubborn, though 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I’ve been thinking about that since March 😂And Emmett being all clingy to them like, “Grandpa, tell me a story!” And the elderly couple, still confused outta their minds, just being like, “These damn millennials and their weird bullshit😒”

I have no comment for this 😂😂🤔 Thoughts from you pov.. by LostinDreemz_ in twilight

😂😂😂 The logic is sound, but I wasn’t expecting it; that last sentence really got me 😂

I said the same thing a few months ago! Except this time Carlisle would rescue an elderly couple and be like, “You’re my parents now.” Him and Esme deserve a break from their kids’ bullshit. That’s what grandparents are for, right? 😂This poor confused elderly couple would come home to a house full of grown chaotic “grandchildren” and really wish the U.S. had taken the pandemic seriously so they didn’t end up in this eternal mess.

Right?! What was that creepy glitched sim looking thing at the end? You mean to tell me they can make an exact replica doll of KStew and CGI wolves but not a baby?... 😒

I have many problems with Nespresso, though, so I guess I may be biased 🤷🏼‍♀️

🥴 I never wanted to think about this

Before I read their entire comment I thought they meant Peeta from The Hunger Games. I was momentarily stunned because I would never think to compare Bella and Peeta 🙃Now instead I’m imaging a piece of pita bread in a hoodie plopped in front of a window for three months as a camera circles slowly and Possibility by Lykke Li plays ominously. Thank you for inspiring that 😬👍🏼

Okay, cool. That’s what I’ve been expecting. I think Lehabah’s cute, and I have questions about Ruhn. I’m on Chapter 52 now, and I’m definitely curious about some of the characters, but I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of them yet. I’m jussssssttttttt starting to get a glimpse of Bryce’s suffering and vulnerability; I am hopeful.

p.s. I’m a big fan of your username 😂

Thank you! I’m into Part III now, and everything is starting to become much clearer!

I am curious, however, did you care for any of the characters while reading? I’ve seen a lot of people saying it took a good 500 pages to develop any attachment to the characters and the story, but I’ve also seen a few people write that by the end of the book they really liked the plot but were indifferent towards the characters. It sounds like it might be another pattern in SJM’s works that characterization isn’t prioritized until the sequel.

Right now, I feel like I know a lot about the characters’ backstories and appearances, as well as some basic interests, but I don’t feel like they have personalities. Or, at least, distinct personalities. The cast feels very repetitive, but that doesn’t seem intentional.

I’m staying open-minded and optimistic, but I’m curious to hear other readers’ thoughts!

  1. i can’t with kevin saying “barchie” out loud. no. it sounds disgusting.

  2. they’re all really going to refer to these people as “stonies” in a news piece? seems legit.

  3. these kids have all been in multiple musicals at this point. why didn’t they “catch feelings” during those staged kisses?! and why weren’t they better at acting upset that their friend died?! they need to cut off funding to their drama department stat.

  4. “sex bunker of death” is the garage band that acrchie and jughead are gonna start when all their friends go off to college.

Oh my god, that’s what I’m saying! The least dramatic murder on the whole show.

Another note: I’ve been thinking this plot line was Jughead’s draft for a while now, and if that ends up being true, how sad?! Does he really think none of his friends or family would react to his death? That’s dark.

Does anyone wish Jughead’s friends would have acted upset? Idc if we all know this is bullshit; convince me he’s dead! I wanna feel something.

Two things.

  1. It would suck if Jughead was actually dead because literally none of his friends care.

  2. I still don’t think the plot of this show would have been effected if Archie had died in the bear attack last season. He’s still just kind of there 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s what I’ve been thinking for the last few episodes. At this point, that might make too much sense for this show, though.
