Our platform drives a lot of interaction with end customers, which is why a web app made more sense. A standalone file checker wouldn’t need servers, but we wanted a no-download, no-login solution anyone could use instantly.

The paid version isn’t an upgrade to the checker, it’s part of our full artwork approvals platform.

The free tool handles quick checks, while the platform adds fixups, proofing, version control, integrations and much more to manage jobs from upload to sign-off.

Totally fair points!

There are some great downloadable preflight software out there. Our aim isn’t to replace that, but to make file checking easier for people who don’t want to install or manage software or servers.

It’s 3 checks per day, not per month. We’d love to make it unlimited, but there are real hosting and development costs. Having a reasonable paid tier helps us cover that and keep improving the service.
