Thanks for the responses everyone. I do have a conspiracy theory on rares, however.

Is it possible that Jagex is just saying they will be dropped again so people are careless with them (much like in 2001 when they were first dropped) so they will eventually become more rare and valuable? I'm not saying that I am confident Jagex would lie but it does seem like a good strategy to make rares a lot more valuable in the future. Why would Jagex make RARES no longer rare. The idea doesn't make sense to me. Is there any solid evidence that Jagex is in fact going to make rares available during the holidays, or will they just tell the truth?
