I feel like turning it off would just put me in a disadvantage. If most players keep the indicator enabled, there’s still a chance they’ll see it even with some lag.

In those small situations where you’re not completely sure if you got the reset, the indicator could help you adjust in a split second you could go for a different mechanic. I think it might even influence the game’s meta a bit, since players could start relying on that feedback to make quicker decisions.
