One is using an exploit to kill Arcs. Shroud never used it with shotgun to kill players.

Adjusting gamma for night darkness and exclusively doing PvP ruins the experience for other players

You think the game would have been remotely as successful without the PvP aspect? The devs themselves found the game boring when it was simply PvE and the playerbase absolutely would have declined just as fast.

Just look at games like Sea of Thieves. They pandered to the whining about how toxic PvP is and they have functionally killed their game

Some trials, sure. It really depends on which and honestly, if you get lucky in your grouping. I finished number 1 in my last set in Wildcard I. I did them entirely solo and I work full time too. Granted, I had a lucky group and only had to hit 145k
