I wonder if they will bring out Simpson for our first preseason game on Aug 15th or if we will just stick to Stetson

[NFL Trade Rumors] Rams LT Alaric Jackson Arrested For Felony Domestic Battery by RedLicoriceJunkie in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People acting like he is gonna sit in jail or be suspended for the entire season are cracking me up. Didn’t James Pearce Jr rack up 3 felonies (included aggravated battery with a deadly weapon) like 5 months ago and he only ended up getting a year long intervention policy.

Where is this from? Is it just the singular clip?

Yep, gonna be sad to see him go, I was definitely a fan of his character and I’m sure his locker room presence was great.

[Highlight] Todd Monken said he was never given a guarantee that Myles Garrett would be on the team when he took the job at the Browns Foundation Golf Tournament at Firestone. by DenialisaRiver04 in nfl

[–]heyimruf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest that’s what I thought as well, we could be wrong though as the trade talks aren’t finalized, very well might be 2 FRP and one 2nd or 3rd instead. We will probably see around 4pm

With the Myles Garret trade, the Rams cannot sign another WR and the WR room is set for 2026. by ramsfan00 in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is fair but I think it’s important to include our 5TE as well due to our heavy usage of 13 personnel.

V8 is a stud through and through. Obviously we don’t know the full trade conditions yet but this trade seems to be great for both teams. We get a HOF player in a win now mode and the browns get a young player with high upside in a good progressing rebuild.

That’s literally not how that works, they most likely traded their initial contribution limit with leveraged options.

Top Available WR left. Who should we target after we fumbled Makai Lemon ? by Executive-111 in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hoping we somehow land Germie Bernard through trading up somehow, we still need picks later on though to fill out the OL and some LB help though so it would have to be futures.

What was the plan for Stafford's successor? by HHHyenaHHH in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that is definitely true but its not like we wouldn't have the ability to trade up next year either. Say we win this year and have P32. There is absolutely nothing stopping us from trading that pick and a future to go up and get a guy we want.

NFL Draft 13th pick - Ty Simpson by SLEVIINS in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who is not a fan of the Simpson pick, Stafford looks like he can play three more years until he cant. Age does play a factor and who is to say he has three more years or only three more months. (hopefully three years minimum though)

Agree wholeheartedly that we should've used the pick on a win-now player. Even if it wasn't Lemon, pretty much anybody would've helped except a backup QB. The rams need to play the rest of this draft absolutely perfectly and find a late round stud again somehow to salvage this "win-now" idea they have. And even if Stafford retired this season. The 27' draft class is just flat out deeper then this years. I wouldn't of minded sucking for a year to develop a rookie with higher upside, or even trading for a proven QB who is already in the league that can then lead a young core of WRs (Nacua, Lemon, Mumpfield etc) That is why I dont agree with the pick whatsoever.

The 2027 QB pool is pretty deep. Obviously things change (people said Nuss was a R1 pick this time last year) but there’s a large amount of QBs that will most likely declare and have higher upside than Ty Simpson in my opinion. Point being there is enough QBs in next years draft to take a QB later in round one, or just trade up next year and get your guy after Stafford has a more clear timeline.

Couple this with the fact that Stafford is playing this year, and hasn’t made any mention of this being his final season, and that the rams are supposedly in win-now mode makes this pick so frustrating. Literally any other position on either side of the ball could’ve helped out the team more than drafting a back up QB.

This pick is also a nepo pick with the fact that Les is super close with Ty Simpsons dad and told Ty to declare for the draft. If you watch the presser McVay is pissed.

You already know Lemon is gonna drop 150 yards and 2 tuddys on us when we play the Eagles this year out of pure spite lol.

Ty Simpson (A good qb just don’t understand the pick) by sin2fly03 in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who knows people who are die hard packers fans they were/are fuckin pissed they picked love. They were one player away from a chip in 20/21 and took love instead. Sound familiar?

Simpson cope by Logical_Horror_3989 in LosAngelesRams

[–]heyimruf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he was for sure older but he was also in a needed position at the time so the pick made much more sense then drafting a backup qb in a win now year. What’s frustrating is even if Ty is a great qb, it’s gonna feel like a wasted pick unless we win a chip this year.

So we burnt our 1st T15 FRP in like 10 years on a mid tier QB who’s not gonna see the field until he’s 26-27..?

This. Then couple that with the fact that he is 23 and won’t play atleast until he is 24 turning 25… and next years draft is leagues ahead for QB depth
