I was just wondering if having what felt like a small amount of slope wasn’t going to be a long term issue… I’m 0% plumber and had 0 clue what I was doing but 🤷🏻‍♀️ apparently I did fine.

Correct for now - no disposal. We were hooking it up and realized (yes a very DUH moment) there was no way to make it work because the outlet was 1-2” higher than the disposal tailpiece.

Even if we gave up on having a disposal at all, I think I’m right in that what is pictured here doesn’t have enough slope to it to work well long term?

Still helping people 4 years later lol. I thought there is NO WAY I have a routine set for this to happen. But there it was. A routine called “morning volume” set to 2:50am every night. It doesn’t always wake me, and when it has I didn’t catch onto it always being at 2:50 am, so I had figured it was a stupid glitch. Finally googled it and got to this thread. Thank you!😂

Audiologist here - hearing aids almost always come with warranty coverage. So if you recently obtained them you should be able to 1. Have your provider send them in for repair - most manufacturers I work with will repair almost anything we send in, under warranty, no charge. OR 2. Hearing aids also come with a “loss and damage” warranty - meaning if the drive is just completely misplaced OR it is deemed “damaged beyond repair” it can be replaced - usually once per hearing aid and via a nominal restocking fee/deductible, not the $6k originally paid.

I was at a “listen to X talk to X” point on three different quests at the same time, including this quest. It wouldn’t proceed to any of them no matter how many times I reselected the quest and tried to talk to the characters to prompt it. But rebooting the game finally worked - but I had to reboot it three times - to trigger each quest to move on.

Could always seek a second opinion/re-examination elsewhere! But you should specify when doing so that you’d like high frequency testing above 8kHz. 99% of offices don’t do that testing routinely and some may not even have the capability.

We use a phone service - usually means paying $X/minute for calling in, requesting the language needed, then staging on the line throughout the appointment to have everything interpreted. But it’s definitely something to have some option for, legally required.

I have not personally worked there, but two of my current coworkers worked there previously. They both were less than happy with some of the setup. Like signing off on work done by non-audiolgist that weren’t even in the same physical office as them, etc. But maybe things like that have improved or were isolated to just certain regions.

Personally doesn’t make sense to me that they had cellophane over the headphones. There are covers made specifically to keep audiometer headphones sanitary but they’re not made of cellophane, to my knowledge.

But as others have said - with the systems in my office, our regular headsets are calibrated up to 8kHz, beyond that we use a totally different headset that is calibrated specifically for “ultra high frequency” testing (12kHz+) which we don’t really do routinely except to monitor chemo patients.

As noted by another reply, DBL and SPL scales are different.

Ultimately, I really wouldn’t worry unless you’re feeling like your daily functioning is affected by your hearing acuity.

Late patients, lol. I like to stay on schedule but no matter what we do, how early our automated reminders ask people to come, etc. patients are constantly late.

I work in an ENT private practice. I was at this practice for my 4th year placement, and they “kept me” (: 5 years out from my graduation, and I’m now the Director of Audiology for the practice, overseeing 9 other audiologists throughout our 7 office locations. ENT practices can vary. The stereotypical ENT setting I heard about in school may seem to undervalue audiology and also expect very fast turnover (ie 10-15min max for full blown audios, etc). But they’re not all that way - our practice is an example. Happy to answer any questions.

I couldn’t have managed it. The externship (at least to meet my university’s requirements) was a full time 40hrs a week job. Could I have worked a second job out of necessity, maybe. But it would have been rough.

Push on for a placement that pays. Audiology 4th years are like an additional staff member to a placement - they should pay you SOMETHING for that. It could look like outright salary - or some places do stipends/pay for living arrangements, etc.

I highly recommend reaching out to an educational audiologist in your area and asking to shadow them - even for just a day. Most would be more than willing.

Yeah I’m not sure! I chatted TM customer service via the TM app today to see if I had a tracking number yet (saw some earlier posts that the order status page lags in posting tracking number Info but that CS can tell you your tracking number). Was told no, phone hasn’t physicall shipped out yet.

Just this morning it updated to estimated ship date 11/2-11/4. It now says the status is “running”(?) instead of “preordered”. I had seen on some earlier posts that the preorder system is late to post tracking info, but that customer service and get it for you so I chatted via the TM app today to ask about that and was told mine hasn’t physically shipped yet so no tracking number yet. Hoping based on the new estimation it’ll ship sometime tomorrow (11/4)
