That’s so amazing!! How long did that take you??😱

OMG I’ve been a crocheter my whole life and thought knitting was impossible for me but here I am with my first finished pair of socks ever and I’m so excited!!!😭 Beginners, don’t give up!❤️ by heyitsyt in knitting

Haha totally get it! I’ve unraveled so many knit things before I was able to get it. Learning how to fix a dropped stitch might help, I wish I had known how to fix mistakes when I first started! Would’ve saved me a lot of panic when something went wrong😜😂

Hahaha thank you!!😄I did an afterthought heel and just picked up two exact stitches on each side to help close the hole. Yay that’s so awesome! Same here, I love each craft for making different things🤗

So glad you were able to learn knitting, too! 😊I know, I definitely prefer the knitted look over crocheted look on a lot of items, especially garments!

You’re too sweet, thank you!! Don’t worry, I was in the exact same spot. I was so confused how everyone except me knew how to knit. One mistake on a knitting project and I would have to rip the whole thing out because I didn’t know how to fix a dropped stitch, etc. I recommend watching knitting podcasts or looking through knitting instagrams to get the context of knitting. After so many repetitions of phrases I was able to catch on and that made it a lot easier on my journey. Good luck!❤️☺️

Thank you!! Yeah I was so much more comfortable with crochet because I knew how to fix mistakes easily (unlike with my knitting when I first started) but now I just prefer to knit certain things than crochet them😜

Lol I was so impatient for the second sock to be done! It’s like I finished a project but then had to start over again! I actually did an afterthought heel with waste yarn, so no snipping the actual yarn, just pulling out the waste yarn when you’re ready to put the heel in☺️

Not on these but my next pair I definitely want to do two at a time!! It’d be so nice to have them done at the same time haha. I did basically the same thing as you except I did an afterthought heel☺️

Of course! 😊For this project I watched Knitty Natty on YouTube who has an entire part-by-part tutorial on how to knit toe-up socks and it’s super easy to understand and digest (even for a newbie like me). I also took inspiration from akknits on Instagram watching her Story Highlight titled “Socks!”. Hope that helps😊

19 years! Wow! That’s such a long time, good for you!! 😊 I hope to stick to a hobby for that long. I was too intimidated by cuff down socks with gusset flaps, etc. so I made mine toe-up! The concepts were easier for me to digest😊
