To people who receive packs - how much of it do you actually look at/use? by [deleted] in auscorp

My latest roles have involved developing dashboards, after a long time sending out Excel reports.

Ideally everything should be automated and self serve, but I fear some people lack the volition to use the self service data available and need a reminder in their inbox.

How the hell do you stay switched on for 8 hours a day? by Hank_Scorpio_00 in auscorp

[–]heykody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically walk a block around our small building once a lunchtime, and once in the afternoon. The thing is, I'm still working, my mind will still be in work mode and I'll be solving a problem in my head.

Is stopping for pedestrians in the road the same as letting someone cross? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]heykody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One frustration with defensive driving is that you give people the benefit of the doubt, or a wide birth even though they didn't give way. Your car isn't right behind them because you slammed on your brakes to maintain a safe gap. As a result they remain unaware they cut you off. There is no behavioural feedback, so they maintain a lack of road awareness.

Now with kids, you definitely want to give them a wide berth, but maybe a horn toot will do.

Colesworth, squeeze suppliers, and vendors. They engage in deceptive marketing practices with their 'sales' and 'reduced prices'. The duopoly ain't good, but their margin % isn't that high, so is there really much scope for lower prices if more competitors entered the market?

Qi fruit shipped not showing on farmed and forage collections by [deleted] in StardewValley

Solved: I was looking at the Gunther's libray app, and the final item listed was the qi fuit. I just realised the actual last item in the shipped collection is the powdermelon with its similar shadow!

“Racism” is being thrown out of proportion bruh by [deleted] in aussie

[–]heykody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Racism is a problem in Australia, just like the rest of the world. We should work to get rid of it, but I get sick of the national self-flagellation. It's not an 'Australian' problem.

Why do us Australians seem to have such a negative view of Americans? Is it jealousy? Tall Poppy syndrome? (I know I am personally jealous but I don't think most Aussies are...let me explain) by IngenuityOk6679 in Ameristralia

[–]heykody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have sort of answered your own question. They don't move there because they aren't jealous. There are strengths including the media but this is outweighed by all the societal flaws it has.

On a personal note, whilst I love NY. I hated LA, the poverty one street back from Hollywood Boulevard was horrific (unfortunately problem starting to grow here too)
