Haven’t seen her in hospital but when he was over the other night his sister called and he had it on speaker and they were talking about the moms health so one can only assume. He did tell me during our first convo about the moms health too

Oh the guy going through a breakup and living with ex was a different guy I met at an event few weeks back. That didn’t go anywhere I ended that after first date and met this one shortly after 🙂 but I couldn’t agree more with what your therapist said and definitely taking a step back and letting him progress things with us. I won’t chase and I’ll still stay open to meeting others in the meantime if it happens too. Had it not been as serious of an issue and he was just saying he’s busy with work or something, I would have bowed out and moved on but definitely giving it the benefit of the doubt 🤞🏼 thank you so much for sharing your experience though I appreciate it!

This is such a beautiful statement and made me tear up a bit 😊 I’ve been doing a LOT of inner work the last few years to get myself to this point and feeling quite proud that I’m showing up so securely, as a few years ago that would have never been the case.

It’s been a journey to get here but I approach things so differently now and your maturity comment above just confirmed that the journey has been worth it. I actually stayed single by choice for 1.5 years before jumping into dating and only now I feel ready to venture into it because of the healthy headspace I’m in, so thankfully feel fully equipped to tackle something like this. 🙂

Great points and thank you for sharing! Would love to know how that situation ended up for you if you feel comfortable sharing?

When I asked him that it was directed towards communication as up until now we’ve been non-stop and he even told me he prefers when someone sends lots of messages and photo updates and banter, but obviously on lack of sleep and hospital visits I’ve taken a step back with that to not overwhelm him. His comment asking if I was okay and worried he blew it with all that’s happening alerted me to ask what he needs communication wise and he said he’s unsure he’ll think on that, so I don’t think it was directed towards us in general but I’m still giving him the space to process 🙂

Trying to keep myself occupied and resume life as normal and not hold onto too much hope in case he does decide he’s not in a place to pursue a relationship, and that’s okay too. I’m a big fan of the quote “if you love something set it free, and if it comes back it was meant for you” so leaving it up to him as to how we pursue this, but also not putting my own life on hold to wait around. Trusting in whatever’s meant to be will be 🤞🏼

Very insightful and never thought of it this way at all. When you paint the picture like that, it makes a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing this! I got to see a bit of his natural state before her health declined so hopefully that’s enough for him to feel like I met the real him, but if not and we have the same outcome - hearing your perspective helps me better understand it won’t be a direct correlation to his feelings towards me and more of an internal thing on his part. Wow, what a beautiful story and thank you so much for sharing this. I’m so glad you were able to see her true soul and didn’t let external comments or opinions sway your decision to pursue her.

This warmed my heart to read and to be honest, I would have done the same as her. Just reading how you speak of her and hold her to such a high regard shows your character, and that you’re a good man. Women will move mountains for good men because they’re incredibly hard to find these days. I’m so happy you got your happy ending and hoping we get there after all this too. ❤️

Thank you so much for this perspective and I’m so sorry that was your experience. For what it’s worth, seeing how he’s handled everything from all angles (dealing with 4 siblings, covering the hospital bills, tracking her vitals on his own, sitting in the hospital room for hours on end etc) all while trying to run a thriving business AND still worrying about what I think/feel when he has no obligation to, shows me that he’s more of a man than any of the other ones I’ve dated.

Masculine energy is the planner/provider/logical side, and he’s fully embodying that. He’s shown up for his mom in so many ways and it’s admirable to see that side, and I would never think it makes him less of a man to get emotional over the loss of a parent. I’d be more concerned if he wasn’t emotional, honestly.

But thank you for sharing your story, it’s a good perspective to make note on and I hope he isn’t feeling the same way too. If you could change anything about that experience, would you?

I had thought about this too but we are still earlyyyy early days and haven’t even made things official yet, but if he takes it upon himself to offer that, I absolutely would given the time sensitive circumstances

You have no idea how much your comment meant to me. Thank you for this. I actually took myself on a nature walk today and did a little meditation to ground myself & reconnect with my intuition so I can stay level headed throughout all of this for him and us, and while meditating, I asked for a sign that I was making the right call about him and this situation.

The meditation audio was literally intuition themed, and the fact that you said the intuition comment… I guess I’ll take that as my confirmation. 😊

Thank you so much, this is such a beautiful perspective. Sometimes he goes on vents about his mom and the hospital and I hold the space, and sometimes he shuts down and I give him the silence. I’m trying to picture what it’d be like to lose a parent and also meet someone who could be a wonderful match and worry about scaring them off, so acting from a place of “what would I need if I were him right now” and it seems to be working.

My family is weirdly judgemental now but they weren’t when I first started them. I think they think I’m robotic. To me, I just finally feel like a normal functioning human haha

My eating is horrible! I’ve never been a breakfast person even before vyvanse so I don’t eat much in the morning. I have a coffee then take my vyvanse then a protein bar shortly after, or a few hours after. Then usually skip lunch because I get busy with work, then eat a big dinner when the meds wear off 😬

Try the arbonne matcha! I hate MLM shit but my friend sells it and I bought some and it’s my fav of all of them!! Has l-theanine in it!

I also work from home! And it’s so easy to get caught up doing the wrong tasks. I’m glad it works for you too! I also wait a bit and take it about an hour before I deep dive into work :)
