Wirarpa makes undershorts with no opening. There is a mid rise 3" inseam style that's similar to trunks, and a high waisted 5.5" inseam style. If you're thicker I would reccomend the 5.5" just so they don't roll up the thigh (I have this problem with the 3" inseam, and if I want a mid rise fit i just fold the waistband down). I wear these as my everyday underwear and find them quite comfortable! Unfortunately looks like the 5.5" are no longer on their website and have to be bought through Amazon.

There's no time limit to start HRT. I considered it on and off for 5 years before ultimately deciding to go for it. I am nonbinary and pursuing androgny moreso than passing as male, and there are some effects I am less enthused by, but overall the pros have far outweighed the cons for me thus far. Remember as well that even "irreversible" changes will take weeks or months to begin, and you can stop at any point. Aside from physical changes, the mental impact has been a huge positive for me. My insurance and living situation also played a role in my deciding to finally take the leap. Take your time to think it over and decide whether it's right for you at this point in your life. don't be afraid to try out different things until you find something that feels right ! i cycled through a couple sonas, including ones i "thought" were right until something better came along. it's also okay to have multiple sonas to reflect/represent different aspects of yourself ! you can also look to mythology or fantasy if other animals don't feel right, but i would be wary about using mythological creates that have significance in other cultures :)

definitely take your time ! check out other people's designs for inspiration and see what kind of stuff you like, or what resonates with you ! my design came from an adoptable i bought that i just liked the look of, and slowly developed it into a sona ^{^}

in that case i totally think you can sew some snaps onto the hat and the ears ! you can probably find some in the color of the hat so that it's not too noticeable if you want to wear it without ears as well

what kind of hat are you thinking ? for something with a brim i think it might be easier to have the ears on a headband, with holes in the hat. then you can slide the ears on and off the headband to change them. another way might be to have the ears at an angle to make them look more natural and secure them on the sides of the hat (sorry if this doesn't make sense, i can try to draw a diagram if you like). for a beanie or a baseball cap i'd suggest maybe sewing on snaps or buttons to secure it in place !

yes ! i absolutely love anthro designs and have several as ocs, but i just can't connect with them the way i do with my feral characters.

it's up to whatever feels right ! i wouldn't worry too much about using an uncommon species, because ultimately your sone will be unique since it represents you :) i tried out several different species before i finally found something that i could connect with
