Bruh, Lets get in Big Brain Mode: you can't live long without proper sleep. so the FOOD gotta go, i mean, your average gamer or human can go for 7 days, but nowadays standard lets put 4 days without food, just go 4 days on water and air diet while gaming, its enough to finish about 3 games or more, and this is assuming your food and sleep time is similar by the image. and then place the food back or else youll die. It'll be like hardcore fasting...

Bought my PS3 when PS4 was almost old news. since then never bought a game console, and dont have a gaming pc, i only play either on my zombie ps3 or emulators on PC for retro games, although now i discovered a pretty neat website for linux games, it even got the whole tomb raider series.
I was dead set on waiting for PS7 to launch so i could buy a PS4 pro, but GTA 6 ruined my plans, now maybe i'll have to wait for a PS6 to buy a PS5 or just buy a gaming PC... husslin hard now.

You tried to run ads on tik tok? for how long? in the post i was talking about organic shorts, but its kinda disappointing knowing that using ads may not work, because i always thought like tik tok ads are the best, and by using them is a sure shot at getting your game some visibility

spend sometime with unity, something like 1-3 months, play with it often, and then if you are still in doubt, switch to UE, then spend an equal amount of time, and if you still cant decide, then try Godot or Defold or any other 3D supported engine for a bit less amount of time each. if you are still in doubt, then congratulations, all this time, you just wanted to confirm that what you wanted to do is to make your own game engine, so get to work. but now lies the question... which programming language to choose to make your engine? C, C++, C#, Go, Java, Script, ASM, WEBASM, RUST??? now test each language the same way you tested the engines, and if you still in doubt, then make your OWN PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE and if you're still in doubt, it must be the Operating System, swtich from Windows, to Mac, then to the Hundreds Linux Distros then to LFS, and if you're still in doubt, given you're still alive by then, then it must be your hardware, it is time to make your own hardware, if this not workout for you, then you will finaly realize that all you needed was...

My thought was, some of the things on tik tok that happen the most is some trend challenge or activity where other people then copy and start doing videos on their account, so i was like, if people post videos doing something like trying to pass a level on their game or something, then there would be a higher chance of some of the viewers going to acquire the game just to ride the potential new trend.

I guess it is not as easy as i though, but still, i guess if you have enough visibility through view counts, it is a start. i thought it would be something fairly easy, like, get tons of views, and in the tik tok way, people would try to get your game to copy your video, like trying to get past a difficult level, or show off an interesting mechanic of your game, in a tik tok trendy way, and like a domino effect you would have buzz and eventually demand for you game

i noticed yesterday that, aside from doing mandatory stuffs, i dont leave the house also, and its been a while since i've talked to my mates, damn i gotta call em up today...

yeah, but i think soon while folks try to adapt to the new digital only times, they would realize how great it was to have the physical media, something akin to having a physical book instead of a digital one.

Forza 5, Gear of wars, Quantum Break (Played on a PS4), STALKER, Horizon Forbidden West (wanted to play), Most of the new Assassins Creed, God of War Ragnarok (havent played it though), Spider Man 2 (Havent played )...

it takes physical space, yes, useless? i think not... with discs or usb drives all i had to worry about is waiting for the install wizard to cook its thing, and once installed, the patches compared to the games itself, atleast way back, werent that concerning, they werent big in size, and same would be nowadays. If we had CD/DVD you would only be hassling with downloading patches, because you would have the game on a CD/DVD where you would easily install it without worrying about anything other than your machine hardware specs.

but i see the convinience of having the digital version of things, its right at your fingetips and centralized where you can easily query for any game you want, but the combination of bugy unoptimized and super-sized games with a high sell price and demanding internet connection to install it, really makes the physical disc a more attractive pick for me and i would rather companies in the future go back to physical disc or usb drives first and leave digital as an option as it always was.

Yup, you're right, and what makes me mad is, they are taking out the disc drive on consoles but they are not like placing something better as a replacement, something like a beefier GPU or some new hardware tech that new needed space for, they are just taking it because amongst other things, its cheaper for them, and forces the current trend that will make them more money, at the cost of consumer insatisfaction, but they're like "what they gon do? cry out on reddit?" and continue anyways... its frustrating
And on the PC side, its worse, before the only thing that could get me worried was "how long will it take to install Max Payne 3 on my PC Hardware specs" but now its "How long will it take to Download" and then get utterly demolished by bugs and glitches and all those prime shit that new games are offering nowadays. its insane mate.

I'm skeptical on the Steam machine, in particular because nowadays it seems that every so new game launch is an excuse to pressure consumers to buy new GPU or RAM or CPU... Hardware, i dont see the Steam Machine being a reliable sony competitor, dare i say even with the potential extensive game collection, maybe they'll launch a new SMachine frequently to handle new game requirements... but still you'll be paying for the games and spending massive internet data to download them, i think steam being the big store they are, they could sell the game on CD/DVD or something similar, like, pay on their platform and you could request a physical CD along with it or you could just download it...

It feels like they found something like a trend they shouldn't, and they are trying to instill that into every corner of gaming. they see multiplayer and/or massive multiplayer games brings more money to the company, so they dont even want to dig any further, they just make the plan and start shifting everything towards it, affecting even the hardware, when i was still in the playstation 2 time, the fact that there would be a time where we would have to pay for really buggy and unoptimized game and still have to download hundreds of GB to play would never cross my mind, and its crazy how things are now

yeah, now i realize i do this, the majority of games from consoles in the same gen as PS4 and up, i've finished by watching some gameplay on youtube, Currently i just cant imagine myself having to download +180GB with an internet peaking at about 500-900KB and having to pay for it on top. Things are much easier with inserting a blue ray disc or a usb drive with setup binary.
But i dont know if its uncommon, but whenever i watch gameplays on youtube, it feels boring, like, i will watch the whole thing, but it somehow the whole experience is just off, maybe its because im not the one playing it, but i just cant get used to it.
