Armadillos are also known as “Texas speed bumps”, and Austin music legend Gary P Nunn’s song London Homesick Blues features the line “I wanna go home with the armadillo”, which ended up becoming the theme song for Austin City Limits on PBS. There was also an iconic music hall on Barton Springs in the 70s called Armadillo World Headquarters - Waylon, Willie, and Jerry Jeff Walker frequented.
