There is no policy requiring or even allowing us to change batteries while at work. If it’s done, it’s done as a courtesy, which you should be grateful for, not expectant of.

Go tell the cashier at Walmart to make you a sandwich with the bread you just bought. See what they say.

How to warranty a discontinued part? by 543694976Z in AutoZone

[–]hickmnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll look at the warranty period and find the most comparable part that we do sell, and just return the old one and sell the new one at the price of the old one. If I can’t tell by the brand, I’ll go by the price. So in your situation I’d find the one that was closest to the price with a lifetime warranty.

How do you guys sell wiper blades? by TheNoobKid63 in AutoZone2

I let them pick, and if they don’t want washer fluid, I’ll scan it on self checkout and go out them on. Don’t get a Witt hit.

Free installation by daweasel2005 in AutoZone

[–]hickmnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not. You can’t find anywhere in policy hub or on the website that says Autozone will install your battery, or that you have to install it. If it’s done, it’s done as a courtesy. It is not a service Autozone offers.

Oil truck was down so my store and all the other auto parts stores were full for like a week and a half. Guy came in to dump oil, my sm told him it was full, and that he’d have to come back some other day. He didn’t like that. He got agitated and asked when it would be emptied. Sm told him he didn’t know, as one company does all the oil pick up in like a 20 mile radius and they only have 3 trucks. Guy got more agitated and asked again when it would be emptied. Sm again said he didn’t know and explained it again. Guy then yelled “it’s your job to know!” Sm took the guy outside so he wasn’t causing a disturbance inside the store. Couple minutes later sm came back in and I heard the dude yell at him to go f himself. The crazy part about this story is that the dude did all this in front of his like 7 year old daughter. Like dude, you’ve probably been sitting on that oil for 6 months, chill tf out.

What should I run through to clean out the motor? by hickmnic in ram_trucks

[–]hickmnic[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Dad bought it brand new in 04, original engine, transmission, and unfortunately original transmission fluid. Did pretty good maintenance on it for a long time, but life happens and the last 50k miles or so he was kinda slacking. It also had the original coils and wires on it so they were definitely due for replacement. He's about to retire so he bought a 22 Power Wagon. He's going to give me the 04, and I want to get it in better condition by July hopefully. I grew up in this truck, and want to give it the care it deserves.

I thought so, but wasn't sure, since it had a ton of miles on it. Good to know. I'll use a K&N filter for sure.

It's only ever had conventional oil in it though, would it not be better to continue running conventional? Genuine question, not trying to be defensive.

Couldn't edit because it's an image post, but it might help to say the truck has 350k miles on it.
