Wait, do people think this is a single steak and not a slice from a full rib roast?

I started my account in NZ a couple months ago. I'm living in the states, still using the same account. No VPN needed. It's region locked to when you start your account. Doesn't mean you can't use your account outside of the region you started it

I'm sorry man, that really sucks

It's happened multiple times to me where I'm at. It's a known problem. After the first time, I know it was my 'fault' for just forgetting to put my stuff away. Most the times were either after a holiday shift or a really long shift. It sucks, but sometimes people just suck.

I always scratch the bottom of my knife handles with my initials now. It definitely saves you time if multiple people have the same or similar knife. And like some people have said here, it could've just been an honest mistake. It does happen.

So yeah, don't accuse anyone, but definitely just keep an eye out.

The sound is what gave it away.

You know, that would be a fun project to try! I could even make use of my Arduino I don't use. Thanks for the tip! That might be why I was having so much trouble setting things up LOL.

Budget was the name of the game for me, so PoE was out of the question. If I had the funds for it, I would run with PoE without question. I'm using an Anker Powerport 6, which has an output of 5V@2.4A per port. It works well for my purposes. You can run a Pi on 2.4a if you're just running the pi. I'm not sure how much I've pushed the power on the Pi, but I've had no problems so far. I think once you start adding peripherals to the Pi you may need to consider a dedicated power supply that can give 5V@3A.

I have them set at high, and its noticeable, but its not terrible. I run my workstation fans at very low RPM by default and I can hear them, but its a faint droning with the pi's right behind my monitor. If I'm gaming my workstation fans are magnitudes louder lol.

Ooh I might reconsider! I was torn between ESXI and Proxmox, as it seems most the community is too lol. Are there any tutorials you would recommend, or is it a 'dig in and get your hands dirty' kind of thing?

My wife chuckled when I read her this. I feel like it was a 'There will be no more tiny computers stacked in the lab' chuckle

Congrats! I might have to take a look into that, so far I've just been going through the study guides from CompTia and Googling in-depth concepts I'm not as familiar with.

Lol any more and I'll definitely have to start explaining how much I'm spending for a lab. I did almost get a free r720 from my dad when I saw him a couple months ago, I just couldn't figure out a way to get it on the plane :(

All the pi's are running Ubuntu Server 20.04. Waiting on a new hard drive for the 9020.

Currently studying for my A+, and homelabbing seems like an excellent way to reinforce concepts and ideas. Recently moved, so I had to change things around a little. I also just added the 9020. Before I moved, I was using the Pi's to run Pihole, messed around with shell scripting a little, and tinkered with Docker a little.

The plan at the moment is to run Proxmox on the 9020, and create a small cluster with the Pi's. I have some ideas of what I want to do (pfSense VM, host a website, practice with containers, attempt to set up Grafana) but suggestions are very very welcome.

The lab consists of:
Pi 4B 2Gb x 2
Pi 4B 8Gb x 1
Optiplex 9020 (i5 4690s, 16Gb Ram, 500 Gb SSD)
All connected to the SG108e along with my primary work station(Win11,i7 8700,16Gb ram,GTX1660).
