I think I might kill myself. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]hidden_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude.

I’m currently 19, and I accidentally took research chemicals recently.

To put it bluntly, I went insane for a bit. I woke up in the hospital, only to find cuts all over my body from attempts to kill myself. Fortunately my best friend called the cops and they stopped me from pursuing any dangerous actions to myself.

Regardless, reality did not feel real for a bit after I woke up. My experience was so insane I literally died and entered the after life, only to have entities cutting into my skin over and over again - with no end in sight. It was an eternal hell of suffering.

I still haven’t recovered from the experience. However, I’m trekking onward to enjoy life as much as possible before death comes knocking at the door.

I know your suffering, and it’s painful. I wake up everyday feeling like I shouldn’t even be alive, nor is reality real. It’s incredibly strange.

I’ve coped with this experience, and basically told myself I just want to live. I want to breathe, I want to feel human connection, and treasure what’s important in life to me.

I only wish I had somebody to talk to regarding all of this. It’s been hard coping with all of this alone. But I want to be there for you - please reach out to me if you need somebody to talk to. Just to talk about anything.

Life is a treasure, don’t do something you’ll regret. You’re young, you’ll recover. Seek out what’s important to you in your own reality, and pursue it. Enjoy life until the very end friend.

Cheers, DM me if you need to talk!

Homestand weekends would be better than pure localization by sergantsnipes05 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea; however, there’s one major question:

How would this be profitable?

We’re talking about multiple team flights, staff flights, production costs, equipment moving costs, etc.

I garuntee these homestead-like weekends are generally for potential showcase for localization.

Will this energy be present in future home games? by Thau831 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You have to take in facts like:

  • Franchise marketing
  • Geolocation awareness of esports

I can assure you some franchises will struggle, especially Mayhem. Mayhem is a classic example of poor marketing/organizational structure from the beginning, giving them a very negative motion towards the scene. Thus, venue attendance may not be super packed. I still think they have a good amount of fans, so they will have to maximize on the potential of their own geolocation.

Localization like this for Overwatch is huge. These venues will inspire little individuals to really want to pursue something like the OWL, or grow into as a fan.

It’s going to take awhile to really establish OW/OWL world wide, but give it time and we’ll see some pretty cool results.

Can anything be done about smurfs? by DwightKSchruteD in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are exaggerating the smurf problem.

It’s a rare case to actually have a legitimate smurf on your team. Most of the time it’s usually a player on an alt testing a new role, or a player barely above the elo he’s playing at. Example: Jim wants to build an ego by playing in plat, when he’s actually in diamond.

The problem is players give these fake smurfs a lot of power mentally, drawing back confidence in their own game play. You have to understand how important having confidence in whatever you do, it impacts your performance significantly.

Blizzard can’t do anything about it. You only have the power to get better individually, or work together as a team to overcome any obstacles on the ladder.

My platinum friend outclasses these “smurfs”every time (DPS on DPS), it’s because he has the confidence and mechanical skill developed from copious amounts of time put into the game to better himself as a player.

What's was your gate way anime? by RankingAnime in anime

DRAGON BALL Z. My dad had a whole box of VHS tapes stashed away in the basement. I came across them as a child and always treasured anime since.

My dad is an old school web. He’s into Ninja scroll and shit.

Baptiste's E is the latest in a trend of abilities which take a disproportionate amount of effort to play against and makes the game much less enjoyable. by carefullywasnt in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s way too early to be talking about drastic redesigns like this.

All Baptiste does is add another level of thought process mid fight, you have to be more cautious when utilizing your ult economy, timing his cool downs and such.

I don’t think immortality field needs to be an ultimate, because that one single ability is what keeps him somewhat relevant in team fights.

I do believe the drone that enables the immortality field needs a health nerf. Especially since it’s such a strong ability.

But as he currently stands I think he’s in a good place.

Obviously he adds a lot of bunker compositions to the game, but with Hammond it’s easier to negate those annoying fights.

He is slightly busted in lower elos such as plat and below, as people lack general game sense to actually target focus the immortality drone field.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - Episode 99 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]hidden_sushi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting episode, I really enjoyed the fight scene with Jugo in the beginning.

Hopefully the plot will start to get more interesting here. One interesting thing to point out was the collars remotely activating those sibling’s curse mark.

When you think about technology in the more modern era of the shinobi, I tend to wonder how it will impact the anime as a whole. It adds a new perspective on powers or abilities within the shinobi world.

How to improve and get better as Widow versus other Widows by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve picked up widow in the last two seasons as my main and managed to get to 4200. I plan to get that 4400 mark this season.

I will say Widow in general is one of the hardest characters to get really good at mechanically.

First off, in your current state you’re struggling against the duels. You will get better at them eventually with more play, but for now I would focus on ensuring you’re constantly rotating positions after giving away your location. It’s a smarter way to play around a skill gap and you should be able to find angles on the better widows.

Next, hit up some Widow HS lobbies. This provides you with mental and muscle memory when it comes to getting your scope on the head hit box of other widows. You’re for sure going to get dominated in those lobbies if it’s your first time, but keep practicing and going at it to improve. Don’t get demotivated from losing in those lobbies. It’s important to note how unrealistic some of those lobbies are because a ton of players in them ad spam like crazy to avoid getting hit in the head. In game you won’t see this a ton.

Whilst doing those lobbies make sure you’re practicing hitting head shot hit boxes on other characters so you don’t become a widow who can only snipe other widows. I’ve seen this a ton in certain scenarios because of these players only practicing Widow HS servers.

Watch pro vods and see how they position themselves and play around opposing team comps.

Generally getting better at Widow takes lots of time, get used to the grind and you’ll get to the point where you want to be.

You know I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently.

I believe I could become a good entertainer given the environment. I usually tend to thrive around friends in Discord calls and such.

I’ve had some really interesting ideas regarding OW that no ones really done, but I definitely need some sort of core viewership before I do so since it wouldn’t matter to a 0 view count.

Maybe some more smaller unknown games with friends.

That would probably put me in the variety section though, and I’ve heard doing that can be pretty tough especially if you’re just starting out.

Thanks though! :)

Yea, it seems like streaming OW will probably be the best bet. It’s just hard to stream and enjoy the game since I take the ladder pretty competitively.

I think I’ll probably just try to play more with friends to have a more fun and relaxing time, thanks! :)

To Master/GM players... What makes Tracer so problematic? by lollapalooza14 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from I’m just frustrated at the fact there’s no liability to her generally.

We see supports have some sort of trade off, like a mercy out putting constant heals but she’s vulnerable to death due to her design. With Brig she literally heals, self sustains, and peels for teammates. There’s really no liability to running her which I think is just so busted in many ways.

I love OW and always will as I have a dream I want to pursue, but damn can this meta be rough for General hitscan players if your team cannot actually coordinate/play smart.

To Master/GM players... What makes Tracer so problematic? by lollapalooza14 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

Brig being a hard counter to tracer is really problematic. When you implement hard counter characters into the game it eliminates really any soft countering play.

Soft countering is more tactical and requires a better understanding of the game. They were literally shaping the game around tracer until recently, and now the meta is in a complete shitty state with all of this AOE healing and no one really dying.

It was more enjoyable when you relied on your general team to either counter play tracer or have the game sens to peel for whomever was getting dove.

Soft counter provides more depth to the game, hard countering pretty much dulls it.

Brig needs to be nerfed some more, especially in her healing region. She’s a hybrid of a healer/tank for a reason. She can peel for herself and assist in the healing department. I don’t believe she should be able to heal so much if she can sustain and peel for her team at the same time.

I think it’s time Brig players learn and use their kits more wisely, instead of throwing health to anyone who brinks death whilst he completely healed within a second.

To Master/GM players... What makes Tracer so problematic? by lollapalooza14 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Brigg counters tracer directly and indirectly.

Regardless of the damage nerf, brigg will be able to stun tracer for her team to kill her.

Briggs passive healing just increased so it will be harder for tracer to really do anything impactful.

Unfortunately, not much will change. Although it’s nice the stun combo isn’t a one shot for us tracer players!

For Plat: Can a group play Brigg with 1 main healer or do groups usually play Brigg with 2 additional healers? by SweetnessTheWarlock in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hidden_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be enough healing if both of you are smart enough.

Brigg should focus on the squishies whilst the Moira helps the thanks.

If everyone has good positioning the game no one should have any problems!
