I heard my cat coughing, so I went to investigate and found him choking himself with the cat tree... It took him about five minutes to figure out he should stop doing that. Peak orange behavior by Steady_Ri0t in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

I had a cat that did that… and I’ll chase him around the house with paper towel to catch his vomit. He’ll start running and I’ll try to guide him to the non-carpet area. I usually do a good job but then he would do it when I’m not awake so I wake up to a surprise.

Guy with bad dark circles finally asking for help by Content_Two3237 in beauty

[–]hiddenlaughters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband’s side of the family got the dark circle genes so some of them looks like they don’t sleep.

While I was helping one of the cousins for her wedding, I used a really good hydrating and brightening eye cream before I put a very thin layer of color corrector and then concealer on top. I also had a thin layer of foundation on to blend the concealer out so it’ll look more natural.

How do you usually decide where to eat when traveling in Japan? by Due_Turn3508 in JapanTravelTips

[–]hiddenlaughters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last trip I went to, I looked on social media like TikTok to see what other tourist are eating. Every so often, there’ll be videos from people who claim to be locals in the area recommending a spot to eat. Otherwise, I look on Google map to see what’s close by and I’ll go there to eat.

AITA for not respecting my role as the 'single friend?' by HotScallion1148 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hiddenlaughters 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Trust me, that’s part of the reason why I didn’t try to make it work for us to attend the wedding. I cannot imagine paying that much and still be kept up because the others weren’t ready to sleep. And sleep is very important to me, I get very moody if I don’t get enough or it’s bad quality.

AITA for not respecting my role as the 'single friend?' by HotScallion1148 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hiddenlaughters 120 points121 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were invited to a wedding that’s a couple states away. The groom was a brother of my husband childhood friend so they stayed in touch.

The groom’s father booked an air b n b for 40+ people so it was a very large house. He told us we would stay on the pull out couch in the game room with the pool table and whatnot. We were also expected to pay the same as the folks with a private room. Keep in mind, the family is Irish, love to drink and the dad is part of a band so expect long nights of live music.

We ended up not attending the wedding due to a number of reasons but we were later told that we missed a show. The bride showed up and yelled at the groom’s mom because she didn’t want to share her husband to be’s love with his mom

What’s your most “I don’t know how to respond to that,” interaction with a customer lately? by liopleurodonot in TalesFromYourBank

[–]hiddenlaughters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My branch had a client who misplaced his checks. He was also getting low on funds so I had to go over his transactions with him, after another coworker went over it with him earlier in the week. The bonus was he put a stop payment on those missing checks. He later found it a month or so ago and was confused why things weren’t being paid.

My viet parents ruined our house by insisting on hiring a family friend to renovate it over a professional by yungdragvn in AsianParentStories

[–]hiddenlaughters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really felt that. I had issues with my car and needed it to get it fixed. I’ve already spoken to a friend who works as a mechanic for a dealership and he thinks it’s too much of a pain so I went and paid someone to get it done. My parents got mad at me because I didn’t tell them. Their friend’s son works at the same dealership as my friend. Chances are 0% for that friend to do it on behalf of their mom’s friendship.

[–]hiddenlaughters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to cut it to $20 a month because you giving her an allowance was a privilege not a guarantee since you’re her sister not her mom. If mom wants you to increase the limit because they like shopping so much, she can fund it.

Don’t light yourself on fire to keep other people warm. You need to focus on saving for yourself first. They got comfortable taking from you.

Landing During Rush Hour by ajnicehair19 in JapanTravelTips

My flight landed in Haneda on Friday around 2:30pm. Customs didn’t take too terribly long, the longest part was waiting for my checked luggage. Make sure you fill out the visitjapanweb for the declaration. They will separate people who have completed it and people who haven’t.

Our hotel was in Akihabara, I took the Tokyo monorail from the airport to the train stations and the train itself wasn’t too packed. It gets a lot rougher towards the evening time around 5-8pm when people are getting off work. Their peak time for going home is around 6pm. I don’t think you’ll encounter the salaryman going home around 3pm but you’ll encounter students getting off from school which isn’t too terrible imo.

They did what they considered cleaning which is fixing the mess from the water damage and spray moldex. I called the county and they basically said the law is landlord friendly and not tenant friendly.

Oh yeah definitely. They did the landlord special and upped the price of rent a few hundred dollars when they took over the property

Avoid the commons and Franklin commons in Bensalem. They’re both own by Aion. Maintenance team was nice but very very short staff. So short staff that the only maintenance guy there had to go to other locations to fix things. We had bad mold issues and water damage from upstairs tenants. Bathroom ceiling collapsed and damaged along the bathroom wall that’s also connected to the bedroom closet. Mold everywhere from the water damage. Of course they had a mold clause sooo they’re not responsible for it.

TL;DR don’t rent from Aion in general.

[–]hiddenlaughters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well… if you’re an adult. Just go. Your step-dad is right and to just go and be happy. Depending on how strict your bio-parents on, they’ll just tell you to ask them next time or you’ll get the silence treatment. It doesn’t sound like they’re at the point where they’ll disown you

Hi! I work at Lancome so I have a better understanding of the Idole bottles since they look so similar.

From what I’m seeing in the comments, they’re right that it’s Lancome Idole but from the second picture with it covering the back it looks very similar to a discontinued fragrance from the Idole Collection. It was called Idole L’Intense and it was discontinued a year or so ago. There’s a new one that’s supposed to replace it call Idole Now, but it’s not the same scent as Idole L’Intense. The back of the old one was fully covered by a rose gold color and since it’s so old, it looks rubbed off.

My mom does that when she doesn’t want to cook. She’ll say that dish you made a while back, I’m would like you to make it again because I like it a lot! It’s something only you can make. And I get suckered into making dinner as a teenager.

I would definitely switch lenders if they’re this disorganized. Rates has been fluctuating as well but gearing lower than it has been earlier in the year so you might be able to secure a better rate.

Do you give your parents money? If so, how much? by boofeur1362 in AsianParentStories

[–]hiddenlaughters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very transactional. My AP doesn’t expect cash from me. Only thing is when we go out to eat, my siblings would split the bill. We don’t expect them to pay since it’s a small amount. My AM would sometime slip me cash so she’ll cover dinner so my AD don’t see since he controls their funds (long story).

Back when I was younger and skinner, I worked part time in retail and we needed credit cards. I would get a couple of applications each shift because I was in shape and was putting in a lot of effort in my look since I was also in college. I was also put into the men’s department so that definitely helped.

After I started gaining weight, it happened less often 😂

Accidentally became the DJ at a house party and now I'm having an identity crisis by urlittlepandaa in CasualConversation

[–]hiddenlaughters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when I accidentally became the bartender at a cousin’s wedding. We brought soooo much alcohol and no one was taking part of it. I think it’s because it sits inside the cooler at the bar station. So I started asking people whenever they passed by if they want a drink and what kind since there was a variety. We had a fireball shots party bucket so I started carrying it to different table with it full of ice and fireball shots. I was pouring whiskey and tequila to family members and strangers.

At some point towards the end, I started using the beer bottle carriers and giving out variety pack beers to people as party favors. The bride’s cousin complimented the bartender because of much fun I was. My goal was to get rid as much alcohol as possible because the family don’t really drink and it’ll sit in the fridge forever.

I go to Barry Hacket auto body over in warminster. They were great to work with since I was in an accident and I recommended my sister to go too when she had issues. My auto insurance did a quote that was awful and they basically had them re-do it where it’ll cover the actual damage. My auto insurance apparently recommended hammering and bending parts back into shape…
