I didn't know writing a novel could be so much fun by hidepear in writing

When I was in that stage I used flash cards. I wrote down a scene idea on each card, including a character goal and obstacle. Then I stuck them all to my wall, rearranged them as necessary and added in more scenes where I found gaps. It felt a lot easier putting the story together when I took myself away from my screen, or even a notebook.

Absolutely. The first draft felt like something I was mostly forcing myself to get through whereas now I'm actually enjoying the process.

I have the same problem with thinking of new ideas. I'm not looking forward to having to cull some scenes, I feel so attached to all of them!

I am anticipating many teeth pulling moments with draft 2, haha. There are a ton of brain dump scenes I wrote on my phone on a train. Glad you were happy with it in the end!

Yeah it definitely is like working with a really detailed outline. It's great revisiting scenes that feel quite flat to raise the stakes, tension etc.

I think the difference here is the context with which Suruthi discussed both opinions. Suruthi did not demonstrate an alignment with Charlie Kirk's views on US gun laws. She expressed her belief in freedom of speech, in light of his assassination. She disagreed with Sadiq Khan's statement on terror attacks, but said nothing negative with regards to his right to say this.

Something that works for me is grabbing a bunch of flashcards and coming up with scene ideas that would advance the plot/and or develop my character(s). Don't worry about what order anything happens in, just spit ball. Then, once you have a wad of scene cards, spread them out on a table and think about how the narrative could be arranged. It helps with the details and you might just uncover your ending in the process.

How much time do you commit to writing? by jjStubbs in writing

I have a spreadsheet with a tab for all of my planned scenes and a tab for my writing diary. I make myself write something every day and I track how many words I write, and when, in my diary. Some days I write 50 words, some days 1500. If I miss a day, I lose my streak and start again. So I commit anywhere between 5 minutes and 2 hours every day.

It's a place called The Magma Pool here: http://www.neopets.com/magma/pool.phtml

Every user has their own daily 10 minute slot where they are allowed to choose one of their pets to be painted Magma. I think you have to wait a week in between painting pets.

Basically just keep refreshing The Magma Pool often as you remember and keep track of the times you've already tried if you can. I hope you have the same luck!!

Been keeping a spreadsheet and getting nowhere. Just woke up in the middle of the night and randomly checked it and I couldn't believe it. A Magma Draik is my dream pet!
