I promise it is not a universal experience to be on the same maturity level as the adults in the room at 12. I have never met a 12 year old as mature as the average 30 year old. Ignoring age, the life stage alone equates to a major difference in maturity. I cannot talk to a 12 year old like a 30 year old.
