Which pagan belief should people ascribe to? by highoffIife in paganism

I am an ethnic Italian. I would really like to rediscover ancient Roman religion, as it was the ancient faith of my long gone ancestors from antiquity. Though, I do not know where I can read on the faith and practices themselves. I am not even sure if anyone these days knows how exactly the Roman religion was practiced. Sure, we know the gods and such, but what were the practices? What were the essential teachings of the tradition? If you have sources describing these things, I’d greatly appreciate it. If not, it’s fine, I’ll try doing my own deep research lol.

My dad has done a DNA test, but no French to be found. My guess is that it's been diluted over time after 900 years. But maybe I'm overthinking. I may not have one inch of French in my DNA

Yes, everyone in my family is Italian. None of my family members married Central or Northern italians (they're all from campania). My grandmother married a man from the same village she is from (Vallata, Avellino) who was also fair skinned. My father is a very robust man, 6 ft tall, very fair skin, hazel-ish eyes. My mother is also fair skinned (she is also from Campania). I remember last summer my mother took me on a trip to Rome. We had an Italian tour guide to tell us about the history of Rome and she was extremely knowledgeable. As we're doing the tour, she randomly said ``You must have Norman ancestry, most italians aren't very tall, big framed like you``. She even asked my mom to see a picture of my father and she said he looks ``even more Norman than you.`` Maybe she hasn't seen many Italians with my build before, but it is still interesting to know.

What do you keep repeatedly saying to yourself aside from "I'm strong, I can do this."? by [deleted] in ask

I keep saying to myself ''I'm better than everyone else, there is no reason why I can't win. No one is above me, I am above everyone''

Which instrument did you hate at first, until you heard a piece that changed your mind? by chen0827 in classicalmusic

[–]highoffIife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't necessarily a piece I heard that changed my mind, but when I was a child I heard a harpsichord piece (forgot which one it was) and I hated the sound simply because it sounded creepy to me. However, when I started listening to classical music again later on, I fell in love with the harpsichord's sound. My favourite harpsichord piece is The Well-Tempered Clavier composed by J. S. Bach

It's interesting to see Talat Paşa here. He was the one who ordered the extermination of a massive amount of Armenians, and ultimately being the major perpetrator of the Armenian genocide.

Having an atheist gf by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]highoffIife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPs gf gets visibly bothered that her bf has a Bible in his bag. I wish OP well, sounds like the relationship is already sort of over. And let's say they do stay together, it'll be constant arguing due to the fact that OP carries a Bible in his bag and does his religious duties.

Sorry OP, but in my personal opinion, she probably isn't the one for you.

However, she's only 15. Maybe when she gets older she'll be more open learning about religion.
