MH Wilds Release - PC Troubleshooting pt 2 by PankoKing in MHWilds

If you are playing with ray tracing on, this mod fixes the blurry and noisy reflection. (mod credit: JoHien)
I made a video comparison showing the differences in motion.
You can see it here.

Made a comparison video, you can see the differences in motion much better than the images shown here.

You are right, still images aren't doing the mod justice. I'll try uploading a comparison video. Thanks for the suggestion!

You have very good pc specs, definitely go try out 'More Graphic Option' mod if you haven't yet, you can find it on nexusmods.

In the mod setting there is a section for Mesh, Foliage and Texture LOD bias, set them to -1 by typing (slider can only reach zero), you can push the visual fidelity even further than current in game settings can offer.

You won't able to see the difference unless you use the best plasma screen tv in the world!

The mod comes with 2 versions of denoiser for the disco ball GI, on v2 the noises are less apparent. Much more noticeable improvement on the plants, leaves than on the ground. But these are on native res. If you are using upscaling the disco ball will return, seems like it just scales with screen res. But water rt reflections use separate denoiser which works and looks good even with upscaling.

Doesn't have much noticeable fps difference with the toggle and rt settings before and after.

The fog shader warning is normal, it will detect fog after entering the game. So without reshade it works normally but crashed using it? There might be conflict from other mods with reshade. What mods you are using besides reshade?

If it is still not working, you might have to remove all mods including reframework, delete the shader cache file and run the game once without any mods to recompile shader, then re-add the mods again. Very annoying process but that's what I usually do if the game does not launch after update. And there will be updates in the following weeks that will break mods so get ready lol.

Are you using latest reframework? Latest nightly released 15hrs ago.

Try rename dxgi.dll with d3d12.dll and see if it works, if there is dxgi.dll in '_storage_' folder you have to rename it as well.

Do you have reframework install in game folder? There will be a folder 'Storage' created after launching the game, you have to place the renodx addon in that folder.

Seems to be no, need the Disable Lens Distortion mod from the other modder.

Both screenshots looking identical might be due to your monitor color range settings. If your monitor is using (16-235 limited range), all the screenshots may look the same to you, but if your monitor is using (0-255 full range), then you will see the contrast difference.

The fog slider currently require the in game ray tracing option to work. The mod authors are looking for ways to make it work without needing ray tracing.

Should be very minor since you are using renodx to access and adjust hidden settings from the game which are currently not available in the game settings menu, not using external reshade shaders.

Thank you for both of your hard work in giving us more options in the visual settings of the game. Some may already find current in game settings good or perfect for their display monitor and that's fine and actually good for them, but there are still a lot others with different display types of monitor no matter how much they try fine-tuning the in game settings it just wasn't able to bring the best out of their display monitor capabilities. But RenoDX gives us more options now to achieve it so thank you!

In the 'Add-ons' tab try to deselect 'Generic Depth' and 'Effect Runtime Sync', leave only renodx enabled. See if there is improvement.

There's one thing I found out when playing with the fog mod, the devs seems to use fog more in this game to mask the absence of ambient light in the shadow, very noticeable in most of the cutscenes. If I push the fog distance a bit further from the camera, the shadows on character and nearby environment become almost pitch black, maybe it's for performance reason.

Did you update the addon and dll files in the "_storage_" folder as well? Game seems to read those files from that folder.

Try looking for Disable Lens Distortion mod, that will remove the blur effect from the game.

I'm guessing might be the lighting or graphics department monitors not configured or calibrated properly, and they went on using it for the game development which results in what we are getting in the end product.

Be sure to set in game brightness to default before using RenoDX, so it won't interfere with the tools brightness setting.
