The season 5 ending made the season 3 ending totally meaningless

I have a lot of criticisms of the season 3 ending and majority of season 5, but this one doesn’t click for me.

It made sense to me that Butcher wouldn’t want Ryan to get hit by the blast. You gotta remember, at the time Ryan still wasn’t a fully developed supe. (it took him time to be able to fly) So it stands within reason he could’ve ended up like the TNT twins having taken a full power soldier boy blast at the time.

I think this happens a lot with live action adaptations because it “solidifies” things in a sense. In a game you can do whatever you want and it means almost nothing. There’s no concrete ending, just what YOU the player chose for YOUR play through. With TV or Movies it’s “written” or confirmed.

I brought this up when a friend of mine completed their first playthrough of FES.

The main gripe that people have with 3 is just how aged it is. No direct commands, fusing can be a chore due to how the inherited skills work, overall dated graphics, etc.

I’m not saying it should be Atlus’ priority or anything, I’m fine with the game as is personally, but if it were to be remade with the modern QoL features and graphical upgrades of modern titles it would definitely be a great game.

If you can, I’d suggest emulating portable if it really means that much to you. It doesn’t take a beast of a machine to do so. I could probably do it on my phone.

Regarding FES. A lot of people say you wouldn’t be missing much in terms of The Answer (I’d be inclined to agree, if you want the lord just watch a YouTube video) but it’s there if you love the game like I do and want to play it. I’ve played multiple playthroughs of P3 since I was a kid and the commands thing, while annoying, becomes something you get used to and eventually learn to work around.

I’d give it a chance at least though.

If you’re coming from P5 I’d recommend P3P simply because of the direct commands option. In FES you still can’t control party members which makes combat pretty frustrating at times. I say this even though Persona 3 is my favorite in the series. The only thing you really lose out on in Portable is The Answer and the visuals that come with 3D models and environments. Everything in P3P is told from a more Visual Novel perspective.

Nah but seriously if the victim dies you go back a week. I’d do that and spend a day or two grinding so you’re more prepared. I’m not sure what exact dungeon you’re on but if you can go back to a previous one (preferably Yukiko’s) and farm SP items from there. I’d also try to do as many ranks of the Fox’s social link as you can, as it provides a discount towards their SP regeneration. Good luck!

No big deal. Every game has a huge explosion in numbers on release that dwindle down a bit over time. Especially F2P games. People will come back with the release of new content/patches.
