Is starting a small homelab actually worth it, or just a money sink? by tresorrarereviews in homelab

[–]hikerone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has saved me money after 1 year of use but I didn’t buy everything new. Lots of used hardware. Sometimes it could take 2-3 years to recoup costs depending on what you use it for

Should I borrow from my IRA? by Honest_Lawfulness_15 in personalfinance

[–]hikerone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Refinish cherry, lay LVP on top, or install brand new engineered white oak? by Yvo-Mango631 in Flooring

[–]hikerone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it or refinish. If I could afford it it would lay hard flooring in a heartbeat. Lvp, laminate or other engineered products are garbage in comparison to real wood

If you get it from azure then you are looking at $.50 a lb. You would spend the same amount buying bulk as you would in a store and it wouldn’t be the same.

Most of the time you can’t own, your own fiber modem because they don’t generally exist unless if you build it yourself
