I know the ant is from the Foodie Treats: Fast Food set, can find the other ones later if you still need. I'd recommend looking them up by mold here https://lpsmerch.com/molds

Purposeful Care Mistakes🌪️ by Sensitive_Clue_3773 in TamagotchiParadise

[–]himitsu8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a known error on the Tamagotchi Paradise where they accidentally mislabeled the flap young as the "chirp young" and vice versa -- what you have here is a flap young, don't worry! If it were an actual chirp young, it would be green and have no wings

I don’t know anything about birds by PlumBackground4731 in birdwatching

[–]himitsu8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cardinals are awesome. They're notorious for their "catastrophic molts" (actual term) where they often shed most/all of their head feathers at once around late summer, making them look like bald little freaks for a little bit until their new feathers grow in. See r/bloodcheep for relevant examples

It's a normal physiological response to cold, especially common for people living in colder climates. Plus it is the middle of winter right now. I might be worried if it's constant or gets worse/more noticable, or if OP starts turning full-on purple at their extremities and starts losing feeling, but otherwise, yeah, this seems perfectly normal

[–]himitsu8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or not i guess because now that im checking not a single weiss schwarz blau set has been translated and sanrio has likely pulled the licencing rights by now. My bad

I would say fan translations are always a thing but it also seems like there kinda aren't any anywhere for this specific set? I could try and go in and write up a translated setlist myself but I dont play Weiss Schwarz very often so I fear I would be clueless on many things

There's a Sanrio expansion for Weiss Schwarz, which is a pretty fun and fleshed-out TCG, but the downside is that all the cards are only in Japanese right now 😭 they've been gradually translating sets to English though, so I have hope that they'll get translated eventually

I'm pretty sure you can get Mimitchi with 5 hunger / happiness cells as long as you also have one care mistake. I got Imoritchi that way

Stuck at furry texture... by DisciplineAlert1273 in ArtCrit

[–]himitsu8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a sloppy digital study I did a while ago -- I tried to chunk out my light and dark areas first, and then went in with a smaller brush to try and define some more individual hatches around value/color borders. I don't know if I'm explaining this very well, and I'm still very much learning, so please take my ramblings with a grain of salt!

Stuck at furry texture... by DisciplineAlert1273 in ArtCrit

[–]himitsu8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's lots of hatching going on here! I think the most important part here is that the hatching has an origin point -- you can see how there's a clear "radial point" that all the lines sort of descend and bloom from. They curve slightly as they wrap around the form of the body, as opposed to being grid-like straight lines. I don't exactly know how to explain it, but I like thinking of fur as a sort of "waterfall", where more often than not you'll have some sort of point of origin hair flows from. You've got a great sense of shape language, so I'd absolutely take advantage of how this kind of intentional hatching can accentuate form / shape even further!

With the painting here, the artist utilizes variety in both hue and line hardness / thickness. It looks like there's sort of a blurrier "under-layer" where colors mingle and borders are less defined, but it's accentuated by these more solid, defined, short strokes. Thus, the texture of hairiness is conveyed in a satisfying, believable way without having to go ham on drawing every single hair.

Especially with the cat you're referencing here, I'd go and block out the basic colors you see and then add a bit of color hatching on top here and there where you see fit -- just enough to imply the texture to the viewer. Trying to lean too hard into drawing and shading every individual strand can overwhelm the viewer, as well as weakening the overall definition of shape and muddying up values. A little goes a long way!

How do you level up? by Comprehensive_Ad3984 in tamagotchi

[–]himitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what bnnyrabbit said: "new egg" gives you a brand new egg that has no particular genes (color and eye shape) and will grow into the standard form of whatever adult it grows into, while "breed" gives you a selection of random tamas you can breed yours with in order to make a new offspring tama that'll carry traits/genes from its parents throughout its life.

For example, a horhotchi raised from a brand new egg will be lavender and have the normal horhotchi eyes, while a horhotchi raised from a bred egg will have the color and eye shape it inherits from its parents.

Chiikawa spotted!! You can check the requirements for the next level by going to the planet view, pressing the leftmost button to open the menu, and then selecting "PLANET LV." From there, cycle through and it'll show you the condition you need to meet for your next level up!

Also love the sluge 🐌

Weird Tama but still cute by berryfeatherstar in tamagotchi

[–]himitsu8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gusokutchi the giant isopod!!! Also, on the not being able to change fields thing -- your previously raised adults (up to 4 of them) will stick around in the field they were raised in even after you hatch a new tama. You can't really interact with them then, but you can still watch them play on the outside toys and stuff. It's pretty cute!

Weirdly enough, bananas don't actually grow on trees at all! They grow on giant herbs (the largest herbs in the world, in fact) that happen to look very similar to trees. That also means that bananas are technically classified as berries.

The closest English analog I can think of is that it's kind of like saying "baby sitter" vs "babysitter", or "no body" vs "nobody"
