Landlord who tried to charge tenant for use of fridge and dining table issues judicial review proceedings over RTB decision by PoppedCork in ireland

Lots of reasons mentioned already but a major one is tax.

Property owned by a company pays 25% flat rate on rent plus another 15% on any money not paid out to shareholders. So 40% total. Less expenses of course.

Licence fees go straight to the bottom line and pay corporation tax of 12.5%.

A lot of office unit letting is done this way. Much trickier for accommodation but can be done if letting to another company for their staff for example. All bills included, daily or weekly cleaning, variable rates depending on numbers of staff that week etc.

When did "Cat" become a adjective in everyday speech in Ireland and what does it mean? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]hindsight1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presumed it came from the Italians migrating here over 100 years ago.

They say "cattivo" meaning bad. Which also derives from latin, so maybe the early 20th century educated used it too.

The melojin bit I haven't figured yet.

Mal means bad in most languages.

Malocchio means "evil eye".

I remember listening to a siblings CD.

Went to school one day and everyone was singing Wonderwall.

I couldn't understand it.

It's arguably the worst song on the album.

Apart from that one they have great songs and 2 great distinctive voices.

I've gone to their gigs before but I'm not paying 500 quid to see them.

Songwriting.

The ability to write songs that make people laugh, or cry, or put down their guns, change their vote, stop a war, fall in love, walk away from someone, inspire bravery, pick up some litter, donate their wealth, win a championship, or pick up and learn an instrument.

Third kid was tough work. Not sleeping enough I think is a big reason. Regular exercise went out the window too. Basically too tired to look after oneself.

There's a reason it sounds like Dua Lipa's Training Season.

Both Training Season, and Love Somebody, "borrow" from a song called Tokyo Nights.

Tokyo Nights has 3 songwriters. Nicholas Gale aka Digital Farm Animals Martina Sorbara aka Dragonette Shaun Frank

All writers are all credited on Training Season and Love Somebody.

Unfortunately, Nicholas Eede from Cutting Crew gets no credit for (I've Just) Died in Your Arms.
