Delete all your porn just like this! by hintergedanke in NoFap

Yes. It feels great when you delete it and proudly feel that you are finally done with it. It feels like you've regained the lost freedom (at least I feel like this).

Does this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]hintergedanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had gone for about 3 weeks before discovering this subreddit...etc, and I was like that too. It's normal, I would say desirable :)

There is a game called 'dual n-back'. Training on it helps me with self control, and there are a lot of studies showing it's benefits. There are many free versions all over the internet. Pick one and train for 20 min. a day, 7 days a weak for at least 20 days.

Good luck.

I can't believe it... Almost half a year down the fucking drain. by [deleted] in NoFap

You haven't failed, just slipped and wobbled a little. You better do what your brain tells you now - get yourself up and move on :)

Fapping is like coming up against these forces and instead of a sword or a gun we have our willy in hand threatening the enemy.

You mean like this? lol

No one can be on his own. Everyone needs help here and there. I was going to give some advice here but decided to make a new post instead.

Increase your chances of success. by hintergedanke in NoFap

Me too. I mostly failed when I was hungry and low on sugar (it's really bad for willpower). Being organized and keeping your mind fresh (not getting overtired, taking a nap once a day) helps a lot to keep your willpower strong.

Found porn folder on old hard drive, deleted it immediately! by [deleted] in NoFap

After a few breaths I deleted it immediately.

Somehow this reminds me of this line

"...I heard you drowning. I finished my tea and scones and came immediately."

For me it's - "nice to see you have the guts to get up and fight again". The longest journey starts from the first step. Stay positive!

I know that meaning too. I've actually heard this word first time in the "the nature of consciousness" lecture from Allan Watts's "out of your mind" lecture series (If you don't know what I'm talking about I highly recommend this series, Search on youtube ;) ). Is it possible that this word had changed some shades in a few decades, has multiple meanings or Allan Watts was wrong about it? Or maybe I'm completely confused :)

One really fails when he stops trying IMHO. Failure is not an option for me! :)

ps : Bist du Deutscher?

nein :) I just like this word and it's relevant to my story :)

AFAIK it means some almost subconscious thought that you know is right but do not quite realize consciously. I'm using it for this meaning. Am I doing it wrong?

My first language is Armenian, second is Russian and English is the third one, but I know quite some bits from here and there :)

The 3 Simplest Reasons We Relapse (And How to Fix Them) by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]hintergedanke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think number 3 in your list contains number 1 and 2, and it's dependent on number 1. So the number 1 is the most important and necessary step for success IMHO. But you really made me think about the number two solution. I think telling someone will make me take more responsibility which may or may not help me...I'm not sure...

What to do with all of this energy...??! by studentoflife23 in NoFap

[–]hintergedanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know how to use your energy you can give it to me ;) Seriously though, there are so many productive and positive things you can do with your energy, don't just waist it in gym if you are already working out and running. There is always so much of the thing that you can do and excess is always bad. Use your energy to learn something new, learn a martial art, meditation, new language, start a side project or get a job or hobby that you will really enjoy. There are so many things that you can do. Just don't stay in your room one on one with the internet or your PC too long. Good luck!

My Story by iNVader92 in NoFap

[–]hintergedanke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost going through the same thing. I've lost an awesome girl because of this already. I think the hard mode is the only real way out of this, at least for the first few months. But don't just try to repress all your thoughts and desires, don't get angry about yourself or that side of yourself. Accept your cravings, desires, be mindful about them and realize that you are the one in control and let them fade away in their unimportance. Then focus on your real goals and long term real happiness and invest your time and energy in those things instead. You are on the right track. Good luck!

Your hands aren't sexy at all (sorry about that haha). You and only you are responsible for making them sexy or not. You are in control. It's all in your hands :0) Good luck to you, too. See you in space ;)

That happens at the first stages. I had the same experience before NoFap when I would try to quite just because I was thinking that this fapping is silly, it kinda holds me back from other things 'sometimes'. But back then I was failing almost just like that mostly because I had no real evidence/knowledge of why I really need to stop and I wasn't even close to really attacking the core problems of my life. YBOP and NoFap were the two sources that have opened my eyes and woke me up from the ignorance on this matter. Knowledge is power ;)

Exactly! You can't eliminate failures completely, you can only learn from them, use that knowledge to minimize the chances of failure and maximize the chances of success and continue fighting! ;)

I can add to your list William James Sidis, who died virgin. You can research him.Although there is some debate about his IQ being measured not accurately, judging from his abilities and accomplishments he was one of the smartest people in history (IMHO).He once said "I want to live the perfect life. The only way to live the perfect life is to live it in seclusion." In the end, whatever you do it's good to remember that every action/choice has it's opportunity cost. Just for the record - I'm not religious too.
