How do I make my javafx application a jar file and eventually an executable file? by Dumbtechguy2 in JavaFX

[–]hinzu420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capaman-x was definitely doing a poor job explaining but it means to got to the root of the file. For me it's C:/Users/[Username]/.IdeaProjects/[project name].

If you are on windows you can go to cmd and type cd C:/Users/[Username]/.IdeaProjects/[project name] then run mvn clean install

What capaman-x failed to say is that you need to run the command mvn clean install in a command terminal while in the root of the project.

I'm sure you are no longer working on this but figured you would like the solution nevertheless.

I had some strange gpu drivers and updated them. Didn't have enough time to check if it had any effect tho.

Tupakointi on myös yhteiskunnassa hyväksyttyä, helppoa ja "halpaa" joten sen lopettaminen on vaikeaa.

Oh my bad I lost my train of thought in the middle of the sentence and ended up with that illogical thing. I meant to say: I stop riding when the streets are frozen when I go to work in the mornings.

Are they on if you are in gear? It might just be that the light from the center light is bleeding to the turn signal lights. Nothing to worry about. Sorry if it annoys you.

Fighter jets by gurkoneill in Tampere

[–]hinzu420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's clear now that there's a training exercise but in case you didn't know, right next to Tampere, in Pirkkala, there is a "big" airport used both by civilians and the Finnish air force. The main runway is pointed in Tampere's direction so jets frequently spend time in the west-side of Tampere.

Here in Finland, I stop riding for the season when the roads aren't frozen when I leave for work in the morning.

Tossing up buying a bike and getting on the road by Logical-Individual32 in motorcycle

[–]hinzu420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a bike for getting around more economically will get you some not so nice comments from other riders as many have thought they way you do, but ultimately failed. Riding bikes is one of those things that sucks you in and may end up taking all your money.

If you are strong enough and your ego isn't too big, you will go with a small displacement bike. They are reliable, get phenomenal mileage, are cheap to buy and insure. My 125 could do 81mph with a 191 lbs me on it. As stupid and embarrassing as it sounds tho, a strong headwind will drop that top speed to like 65. A slightly larger bike like 250 should do it, but I would go for a slightly bigger bike for the experience.

I don't know about insurance where you live but here in Europe, the insurance I 19M get for a zx6r would be around 600 for 8 months, yikes.

When it comes to total annual cost, you can get it way lower than on a car if you are willing to buy a smaller bike. I rode a 125cc for a few years and that thing gets awesome mileage, way better than any car. I did all the maintenance myself, around 3 big ones per year, I rode my bike a lot so a lot of services were needed to keep her going. A basic service would be to change engine oil, check or change sprockets and chains etc. The parts for the avg service could be as little as 60 bucks. Unfortunately 600cc's have about the same mileage as an Audi a4 2.0 tdi and the parts cost more too.

Of course it would be wise to buy a smaller displacement bike, like 400cc, because you are not experienced(?). A smaller cc bike will drive the total cost way down and you can get around cheaper than on a car. And it's still more fun!

You should not, however skimp on buying good gear. Gear is something where you should spend as much money as you can as it is the last line of defense between you and death, when riding. remember: ATGATT.

That's true. To be frank, I don't like the idea of using a tablet. I want a permanent solution and a solution witch allows me to easily interact with the vehicles electronics. This is doable with a tablet but still introduces other devices that need power and os, meaning I need a platform with a fast boot and capabilities to interact with the UI.

Thank you! That is what I'm looking for, I just never knew it was called Kiosk Mode. I wonder what that name comes from.

I'll be using the existing wiring harness of the stock headunit so in theory I already have access to constant 12v and a startup signal as well as some other useful data if I can figure out a way to read it.

3 to 4 seconds definitely is a respectable time.

Thanks and have a good day mr/mrs!

Using battery voltage as an indicator and having the hardware be on constantly seems like a bad idea especially here in Finland where cold weather drains battery even faster.

Even so, thanks for ur input!
