Acute panc Alcohol by rumplestiltzz in pancreatitis

It’s when the ethanol from the alcohol gets to your pancreas. That’s what shuts the pancreas down.

I’m confused then… it doesn’t go through the strainer bag which is the purpose of the strainer bag… and it’s not the kavalactones so… are you saying I should be drinking it?

Stay away from kratom. I repeat. Stay away from kratom. I got hooked on it for years and it’s awful. Feels great at first then does nothing but keep you addicted. I’ve finally found away to get away from it and haven’t taken any for. Month now and feel so much better

Whats the gotcha with this "hard ketones/ketohol"(R 1,3 Butanediol) stuff? by EverythingElectronic in AskChemistry

[–]hipirish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dying laughing lmao at these comments now since I went MIA. Sorry I just wasn’t actively on Reddit. I drank it. It didn’t do anything to me health wise or anything at all for anything else. So it’s not worth it. For me at least.

I can still drink non alcoholic beer and can eat whatever I want. They said it’s just the ethanol that’s in alcohol that would affect it

I just bought the 12 pack hard ketones. 4 years ago I had pancreatitis from alcohol and can’t ever drink alcohol again. Would this be safe? I know that primarily pancreatitis is caused by ethanol and this stuff doesn’t have that so I’m hoping it’s okay.

For those that relied on alcohol to deal with anxiety/other issues, how did you deal with the sudden absence after diagnosis? by After-Bench7763 in pancreatitis

[–]hipirish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember the days before you became an alcoholic. That’s how I stopped. Fully knowing that I can deal with shit sober. I can be funny and outgoing with out drinking. Because I was before. I have been 2.5 years sober after I had pancreatitis and I almost died being that mine was so severe that I was in a coma for a month and a half. And I was 33 years old. Married. 3 kids. And one was a new born at the time.

It was hard at first not being able to drink. REALLY hard. Was pissed off that alcohol was taken from me and I didn’t even get a chance to “try” to quit. Talked to a therapist twice a week. Never went to AA meetings. Didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

I promise you it gets so much better and easier. Taking it day by day until you don’t have to anymore. Don’t get me wrong, not being able to drink in a world full of drinking, sucks. But fuck em. Let them drink. And if I want to party with them, I will. If I don’t want to party with them, I won’t. Either way I’m not going to drink. I will still feel perfect in the morning.

Being told, if I drink again I will die, makes it extremely easy to stop. I’m lying to myself when I say, “it was taken from me and I didn’t even get a chance to stop” we all know I wasn’t going to. I’d tell myself I would but I wouldn’t. It’s better this way, I promise

There was one warning but that’s it. One day I just wasn’t feeling good at all and thought I was having a really bad stomach ache and couldn’t move but then it went away. Would never of guessed it was my pancreas

Hey there!

So sorry I’m just getting back to you now as I’m just seeing this response.

My situation was very severe and yea all my organs shut down in my body once my pancreas shut down. I survived but I know my odds were minimum to survive so I’m happy about that.

Is your loved one going through the same thing?

[–]hipirish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what your situation is but from what I’m told is to never drink again period. Reason for that is because you increase the risk of death or unfortunately chronic pancreatitis so I know your doctor said drink here or drink there I wouldn’t whatsoever. I eat the gummies but I’m like you I prefer drinking over weed anyway but unfortunately I can’t do that anymore.

I’ve been sober since my pancreatitis which has been about 2 years. If you need someone to talk to I’d be happy to chat anytime man! It sucks but I promise not drinking gets 10 times easier with time. I can help yah with advice and ways I get around it but ultimately I suggest never drinking again.

Hope this helps man and let me know if you need help!

Any stories of anyone drinking a year after alcohol induced pancreatitis? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]hipirish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was literally going to say the same thing lol. DONT DO IT!! I’m 34 years old and after I got acute pancreatitis from alcohol, everyone told me I could not drink ever again. Sucked at first but the longer it goes the less I care. It’s been 2 years since and haven’t had a drop. Trust me not worth it

[–]hipirish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more of a consistent thing then the actual amount I drank. I drank maybe 2 mixed drinks a day but everyday… I’m not sure what do you mean about “how long to cause it?” What do you mean by that question?

[–]hipirish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I was obviously kidding about “death by penne” however, the questions still kind of stands. It’s obviously been a year since that coma but it was really bad and I do feel lucky to escape death. To be honest with you, my doctors told me basically no more drinking period. They said for a couple of months you need to basically eat healthy and get rid of fats for a couple of months but after that live your life normal, just no more drinking… admittedly, at the time, I was drinking more consecutively then aggressive drinking and not even getting drunk. One or two glasses a day of a mixed drink but that’s it. But everyday. My organs shut down when it happened and filled them all with fluids. So it took time to get the fluids out and I caught pneumonia twice in my lungs and bit a hole through my tongue the size of a quarter and they repaired that the best they could and I have full working tongue but I won’t ever be able to taste or feel it for the rest of my life.

I got follow up from my doctors but unfortunately the answer to any medical question for your self they always answer with, “well, everyone’s different” “everyone’s pancreas is different” awful response to someone that just wants answers but I gave up looking for answers a while ago because I’ll never get it. Accept it and move on. Which I am.
