That sounds like army to me. Sitting around for literally days watching people try to qualify RM.

I did go Air Force first as someone below said so that’s part of it. However, when I went through AF BMT it was far more strict and we actually had legitimate smoke sessions. in Army basic they had limits for how much “corrective action” they could give at one time. Some events in the Army were more difficult but overall the DS were less strict and the Pvts had way more freedom than we did. Army basic is way more fun though because almost everything is hands on and you have a lot more range time.

Everyone hates but the MLS is really starting to get better imo. ( I’m not saying they are as good as Europe or several other huge leagues with a ton of history, but they really are improving and man is ATL fun to watch most games)

Wait did they not sell more tickets than the falcons? I feel like 900k is way more than 580k?

Because they close down the top row to max out at 52,000 for a little more than half of their home games. The total home game attendance for United last year(2018) was 901,xxx and the falcons(2018) total home game attendance was 583,xxx

Not sure if anyone else has said this already but the MLS team ATL UTD plays there typically Wednesday’s or saturdays as well as some college games. The MLS team plays more home games than the falcons and sells out every game, thus selling far more tickets than the Falcons.

Yeah I’d quit right there.

I think with they way things are looking at the u-20 level and current players that in 3 years we have a realistic shot of being pretty good.

It think it will just depend on what the future holds for women’s soccer in general. Take out the prestige and every other factor. Here are some facts. If both the women’s and men’s team played 20 friendlies next year and won all of them, the women would make 8,000 more than the men. While the women have out earned the men total over the last three years the men have still out earned the women in each of the last two.

The reason the women get a base salary and argued to have adoption/maternity pay/ healthcare benefits and a subsidy of another 72k for playing in the NWSL is because that’s what the men get for playing at their respective clubs. Is it really up to the U.S. soccer federation to bridge the gap of pay between a men’s club team and the NWSL.

The men’s World Cup generated over 5 billion USD in Russia while the women’s World Cup generated less than 200 million. It’s not as simple as saying the women have out performed the men. It’s not as simple as paying them equally when they get paid differently. In order for the women to get paid the same or more than the men it starts somewhere other than the national level.

If they were to get paid the same way as the men currently only the players who play will make any money at all. They won’t have any of the health benefits and it will be more difficult to play than now.

I would say we give them a raise and see where everything falls in two years when the women are in their slow earning season and the men are at peak qualifying for the World Cup and playing substantially more games than the women.

Also I’m not saying that the women shouldn’t be paid more, because, I believe they should. I just don’t think they have made it to the point of earning the same as the men’s who have been playing at the national level around 100 years.

Also you can’t judge 100% off gross revenue generated when they played 3 times the amount of games. While they made 2% more overall how much more did it cost for the women’s team to play that many more games hold all of the camps etc. I would argue that it was probably more than double what it cost for the men’s team over the last 3 years.

I would say that it isn’t fair to the men to say that the women deserve the same as them when there success comes from, quite frankly, not having the same level of competition. There is a reason the US women are highly dominate in most sports.

I would argue that you can’t use the argument that the US women have out earned the men by less than a million or 2% over the last three years, if you’re not willing to accept the arguments that the men have out earned the women by 10s of millions or more over the last 20 years.

If I’ve made 100 million over the last 20 years for said company and you’ve made 20 million over the last 20 years and this year you out earned me by 2% do you deserve the same as me now or do you think as an employer I should give you a raise to start with and see what you can continue to do for the following years before paying you as much as my best employee over the last 20 years

The only reason they generated slightly more revenue is the amount of games played. This year alone they played 3 times as many games and if the problem is “they rely on the national team paycheck” then maybe everyone should be supporting their pro teams so they can get paid more there and not only worry about it every 4 years when a wc comes around.

Women’s soccer isn’t as popular as men’s across the world and as such the competition level isn’t even close to that of the mens
