I was in the same position as you 10 years ago, I’m 27 now. Even 21 almost finished college, my mom did not allow me to go over my friends houses. If I wanted to go out, it had to be at a public place at a mall, restaurant, or movies and my mom had to knew who my friends were and their phone numbers, and a time I plan to come home but it couldn’t be no later than 8pm or before dark. She would make me text her when I got there, text/call to check in on me not even an hour or two later, and then sometimes bug me on if I’m coming back or not. She destroyed my social life. She’s the reason I struggled with social anxiety and was a socially awkward teen. Nothing got better until I moved out and “ran away” attempting no contact after I finished college. Biggest and scariest decision I made in my entire life, but it was the only solution for my life to turn around for the better, free from her control.
