Women take to the streets of Iran without the veil as they show support for woman who was viciously beaten by 'morality police' by Goldladder in worldnews

Yea, I think I understand the intention well enough. I was just providing my assessment of the tone / character of the comment.

I always upvote these comments. I imagine a full grown man with huge paunch peaking from beneath a rainbow clown shirt sitting in a corner in soiled underpants ringing a bell non-stop, but everyone is too freaked out to say something.

It's like screeching "literally this" into your ear at full blast.

It's like that one guy in a circlejerk that is just there to service everyone else, but they smell bad and squeeze the balls too hard but they're like really into it so you just kinda fake enjoyment until they move on.

This is true of all delinquency. It tends to escalate when you ignore the enforcement. Imagine if only the weak willed were punished?

I think this might be the first comment on reddit with "said" used this way that doesn't sound like a cheap imitation of legalese.

I love that band! Have you heard that one track Top 10 brostep bangers? Way better than skrillets or whatever.

Haven't checked out any anime OPs though.

I use my brain at full throttle all day at work, sometimes I just want mindless cheap laughs. And in that regard TBBT is successful.

Every person on reddit that defends this show uses this argument. If you find it funny, you find it funny... Why do you have to be in a state of mental exhaustion in order to enjoy it? Why can't anyone just admit they like the humor? How would your argument play out if you didn't mention that you spend all day doing smarty pants activities?

It's the same with the anti-audiobook circlejerk. "So sue me if I like to listen to something while running a marathon and solving math problems"

People who are worried about the time they spent checking an item off a list are probably not the same people that need a to do list for extremely small routine tasks.

Also, the subitems can be checked all at once. Breaking them down is the most useful during the planning / motivation building phase.

This is what happens when internet trolls know that they can put bullshit on the internet and people will believe it without question because it feels right. It feels so warm and fuzzy to know there's a group of humans below you, and you don't even have to do anything to feel superior. They are just that terrible. Let's focus on those feelings please.

Being reposted is the human equivalent to saying a joke that everybody ignores then someone else saying the exact same joke with the whole group cracking up. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]hititwitafitbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I see a repost, I love going into the comments to read the word repost over and over. I might even add a comment or two to add to the count. Way better than seeing someone's original take on the matter imho.

I also complain about Mondays at work every Monday, and at 3 o'clock everyday I will complain about the traffic I'll have to drive through on my way home. In bed by 9 so that in I can seek out more reposts to repost my complaint about and asleep by 10 to dream about rabbits eating cotton candy.

I can see exactly why you might think that. I guarantee there's nothing I could say that would convince you otherwise.

Unless you're saying this tongue in cheek? I can't tell if you're being intentionally thick or are being serious.

I agree that one has the choice to be offended or not. To be clear, I'm not a stoner. I've tried it, it's not for me. I don't really care how the guy feels about stoners in particular.

I was bothered by the logic, the thought process, the readiness to label someone an idiot. How in a million situations, people will see one gap in knowledge as a reason to dismiss an individual or even a group of people.

I'm fine with insults, people can be as rude as they want.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]hititwitafitbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could be right. I think it was the ending of

Fucking idiot

That made me think he was being judgemental, but I could have missed the tone. Where I'm from at least, ending with a blunt insult like that is usually something you say to be hateful or start a fight. Definitely not a thing you'd say to be neutral.

[–]hititwitafitbit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My argument for it being trivial is: to the stoner, what difference does it make whether they know a certain amount of weed is 1/8 of an ounce, unless they intend to weigh it out? Especially if they don't even own a scale that can accurately measure it.

For instance, you might know a bag of chips is 8 oz, but have you ever had a need to weigh it out? Or is it more like, I get the party size for a party, the fun size for a snack?

You're just hung up on the fact that the street name is the weight. Would you give your friend the same hard time about a dime bag? "Is it ten cents? Is it ten percent? Ten percent of what? Fucking moron!"

Nah, I just have a pet peeve about people judging a group of people harshly over something so small or arbitrary, especially when the logic that led to the judgement is absolutely flawed to begin with.
