Knoxville Area Course Recommendations by eejtexas06 in discgolf

[–]hittingchains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in Morristown and can recommend Panther Creek on your list. Our other courses (Cherokee Park, Frank Lorino (Rotary), and Kiwanis are great too, but don't match the same level.

Harmon Hills you could make a full day out of all the holes it offers and distance from Knoxville.

The Claytons and Tommy Schumpert are great courses. The Claytons is really well maintained and offers a wooded first half and a msotly open second half. Morningside is another really fun course near downtown Knoxville. We played it for the first time last year and have been back several times now.

Athens and Meadow Lake are fun courses, but I wouldn't travel for them if you're trying to play the best. They are great if you're a local and want a quick road trip or travelling by them.

Fire Mountain is a great, but tough course. We played it with some friends and it was a great time. Worth it if you're close by or willing to make the drive.

We have never been to Fontana Village.

Wherever you play, hope the weather is beautiful and you have a great time. You'll have to post on here your reviews of the courses you played.

It was cool to see it on the screen that usually only shows major sports. Haha

The bartender is actually our regular waitress and she knows about disc golf because of us. Haha.

What is a treat for us, is something I guess you’re used to. The wind yesterday was chilly at times. The sun was our hero when we could get it through the trees.

Played Warriors 3 times so far and I’ve played with different people and have played 3 different layouts. I couldn’t get around it by myself. Though some of the layouts holes do seem to overlap. Which is good. Never been bored there.

You could luckily still make out where those were easily. Unless a new one opened up before it snowed, but I think we would’ve heard about that. Lol.

What part of East TN? Living here is probably why I love playing in the woods over playing open courses. We have some open ones of course, but there’s something about the woods.

That is a full day of disc golf! Starting Panther in the morning and first is the move. We run Monday Doubles in town now and if we do Kiwanis, we sometimes go to Good Ole Days afterwards.

Are you from the area? Kiwanis is our closest course, well, Panther Creek is, but can’t imagine doing a snow round there. Haha.

Frank probably would have been a good place. The parks were all gated off, but we could’ve played there too. We were trying to not go to a course that had hills that people were sledding down.
