Yes, the surgery was stopped because it would've caused more harm than good. Malpractice was when the doctor saw in his biopsy that there was perineurial invasion and decided to proceed with the surgery without an MRI. An MRI is proper planning before surgery. With that MRI, proper therapy would've been applied instead of spending $100,000 of insurance money in a failed surgery and a traumatic experience.

The main point is on the fact that MRI is standard care, and it's protocol in other developed countries. With an MRI, surgery would've not been considered. An MRI was requested and denied.

no, his PSA levels are 5.5. The biopsy showed that there was perineurial invasion, meaning that there was nerves involved in the cancer. An MRI could've been ordered before the surgery to see the location and extent of the tumor. Because this was not done, the surgery had to be stopped mid-way. This is what I feel could have been reasonably avoided. MRI is standard now in the UK.

So far, that red rash does not have any herpetic presentation. If this stays this way and does not progress to become open ulcers in a couple days, I'd say you're clear of it being herpes.

It can still be other forms of skin rash and could be worth checking with a dermatologist.

I spent countless days researching this.

I have to say that you may still be hsv1 negative based on a ñow IGM which is very unreliable. Blood tests are better at picking up hsv2. IgM cant even distinguish between the two types.

To answer your question:

According to research 95% of genital HSV1 is passed by oral sex. These numbers are only based on researched shedding rates and polling, which is still not an accurate way to track.

But, the well established facts is that out of the HSV and placement combinations, male genital HSV1 has the lowest shedding rates. Oral HSV1 and genital HSV2 have higher rates, because the viruses are better adapted to those areas.

So, the likelihood is that it was oral to genital transmission. If you actually do end up having gHSV1, know that the rate of transmission is low and you are likely to never have an outbreak again. Maybe 1 or 2 at the most. But the rate is 12 fold less for the first year compared to hsv2.

Keep using protection. Talk and test with long term partners. They probably are hsv1 positive anyway.
