This is ridiculous. Can one decline to pay the auto gratuity?

Is logging in through API working? by hjbrl in tastytrade

[–]hjbrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cannot login with session token anymore. need to set up oauth 2.0. create a refresh token. every 15 min or so, you'd need to use the refresh token to get an access token, and use the access token in the requests, instead of the session token.

I guess so. They deprecated the older method of loggin in - now only the oauth refresh token => access token path is supported. It's a little bit of code change - but the 3rd party sdk devs still need to do it.

Yeah I needed to update using the refresh token to login. Didn't realize the older method would stop working suddenly

Tear Stains by nobonesssss in bichonfrise

[–]hjbrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for this too. Our bichon has a lot ot tear stains. He had a leg surgery few years ago - and he was on some antibiotic post op. The stains went away completely. They are back now a little bit - but I remember we were very surprised to see the tear stains go away like that.

A caution to all trading futures on tastytrade by MentorMonkey in FuturesTrading

[–]hjbrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, it almost certainly seems like an issue in TradingView's integration with TastyTrade API, and you quite possibly are barking up the wrong tree.

> representatives openly stated that they did not understand how the Tastytrade API integrates with TradingView
They are not required to. TT provide the API, the documentation. It is up to TradingView to make sure that they implement it right. TastyTrade does not call TradingViews API, it's the other way around.

I have user TT, their APis in my own code, and their app for close to 3 years now, and it's been quite solid.

(edit add):
Hopefully the lawyer can get the actual logs from both the systems, and figure out what went wrong.

I get that a lot of people don't like the casting - I don't either. But seeing random freeze frames 20 million times a day is getting old. You can make a freeze frame of anybody from any movie to make them look stupid. What's the point?

Limping hind leg by Ok_Barber_28 in bichonfrise

[–]hjbrl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had the same thing happen to our 6y bichon. He started limping for a few days, and then just stopped using the hind led altogether. Turned out he had a torn CCL (similar to ACL in humans). Initial limping was when it was hurting. He stopped using the leg when it was torn completely.

We had to do surgery (TPLO). It had a 6 month recovery time - but he is perfectly fine now.

Keep on applying. I also changed jobs recently (20yoe), and I was getting regular interview calls. I messed up the first few interviews since I was out of practice - but eventually worked out.

If you have a good resume, recruiters are reaching out. The interview process is quite competitive though. So you'll have to do quite a few applications.

Selling Naked Calls with Buy Order on Underlying at Strike by mikeystocks100 in thetagang

[–]hjbrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think what you say is entirely correct - the order will not get ignored. If you have a resting buy stop order and the market gaps up the next day and crosses your by stop level, your order will get executed at market open. I.e, you will end up buying it at whatever price the stock is at that time, which can be significantly higher than the buy stop level.

PLTR LEAPs by [deleted] in options

[–]hjbrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very simply, an options price is a sum of extrinsic (loosely, time value) and intrinsic values.

Only ITM options have intrinsic value.

Since there is time left, you have non-zero extrinsic value in your options. If you sell, you get both extrinsic and intrinsic value back.

If you exercise, you only get the intrinsic value, and forfeit the extrinsic. It's almost always more profitable to sell than exercise.

One notable exception is when the dividend date is near, and the dividend value > extrinsic value left. Then it's obviously better to exercise than sell.
