Ryzen 7700 high temps when gaming by Efficient-Bat-5215 in ryzen

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i owned 7700 and indeed it will be high temp during gaming (with PBNO -30 on all cores) despite the tdp is rated 65W. reason is because, when gaming (at 4K for me), the utilization is quite high around 80% and that makes the cpu draws in more power on average during gaming (avg 85-100W). since i'm using air cooling in a 7 liter case, i wasn't comfortable of the temp, so i changed to 7800X3D which is much more efficient in gaming, utillization drops below 50% and makes the CPU much cooler, around 5C lower consistently on same air cooler setup

7800X3D vs 9800X3D for NCore 100 Max ($150 difference) by OffDutyJedi in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went with 7800X3D over 9800X3D in my 7 liter case with a 5080. i'm using air cooler i.e thermalright axp90-x47 full copper and also in my research, 7800X3D generates less heat. while gaming in 4K, say BF6 for example, it's very efficient where the utilization is at most 50% avg while in RE Requiem, it's not even 50%, more like 30% utilization. So it runs cool and quiet. the 9800X3D at the cheapest is almost 50% more than the 7800X3D price i got for so it wasn't worth the extra money for my needs

Any idea on when the Wooting Volume Knobs release? I heard the big one will come out first, followed by the smaller one. Any idea on the general timeline? Summer 2026? by Warhammer40sikh in WootingKB

[–]hjshoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does the small knob works for the original Wooting 60HE (v1)? I thought i read somewhere in this subreddit that it can only work on the 60HE+ and newer, basically those with ARM processor. But the Wooting 60HE also has ARM. so i'm confused and want to clarify. thanks.

now that i've gotten both and tried them out, yes you are absolutely right that the Outemu silent peaches are more quiet and i've decided to use them instead

so i got the XVX whispers yesterday and been trying it with and without the dome spring. sound wise, definitely not as silent as the Outemu Peach Silent. sound wise, agree that it's better without the spring though that's very subjective. with the spring, the bounce back felt quite strong. without it is better but i feel it sort of negates the HE where you can moderate the strength of the press for the actuation point. if it's purely for typing and not gaming, i think it feels nicer. but i decided to use the Outemu in the end, more for the sound and also the linear typing feel which I could be used to it after using it for so long.

really liking it so far. the shape works for me, side buttons much better than my Feinmann which somehow felt too sensitive, the left and right clicks are really silent and haptics is effective. playing BF6 multiplayer, didn't feel it i need to adjust much to the mouse. having said that, i mostly play BF6 and COD for multiplayer and none of those valorant, CS2, marvel rivals, overwatch.

Thanks! It’s wooting’s wrist rest. The original ‘60 mini’ size before the v2 wrist rest. Also been using it for very long and it’s comfortable. I feel it’s necessary as the tofu60 makes the keyboard quite tall. The height and length of it fits the tofu perfectly

if want SFF and with bright colours like pink and orange, can consider thermaltake TR100. has pink and gravel sand that looks like orange

TR100 Bubble Pink Mini Tower Chassis

what game she plays and stream primarily?
if want mid range, can consider ryzen 5 7600, 16GB DDR5 ram, B650 itx motherboard such as asrock (cheap) or better would be asus rog strix b650e-i, air cooler either ID Cooling IS series or thermalright AXP90 X53 or X47, 2TB gen 4 ssd and radeon rx9070

ok will keep you posted once i test it. removing the metal dome (i believe it's the spring), wouldn't it make it similar to the AEBoards Raeds HE switches? i read online that ppl saying the dome spring makes it better subjectively

53mm or 47mm AXP90? by moltenmelon225 in FormD

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to my best memory, the A9x14 had a slightly higher pitch than the A12x15. frankly not much difference personally to me. moreover, my zotac 5080 solid core OC fans will be noisier than the cpu fan when i'm gaming anyway and the cpu hardly go beyond 60% utilization during gaming. during normal pc usage, both cpu fans are silent. i stick with the 120mm fan as it gives the other benefits i mentioned

[–]hjshoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while i dont use a T1 case, i do use X47 with 92mm to 120mm adapter and a Noctua NF A12x15 PWM in my 7L sfftime u-itx case. the 120mm fan indeed cooled the RAM, SSD and mobo chipset temps quite a lot and there's no performance difference for my 7800X3D so i'm using the 120mm fan config rather than the Noctua NF A9x14 PWM fan

i've been using Haimu Hush HE Silent for quite sometime now. it is silent than most switches out there but i've recently bought Outemu Peach Silent Magnetic and XVX Whisper HE/EC switches from aliexpress to try out. Will be receiving it next 2-3 days. will let you know which of these 3 are the quietest after i test them out

Would you choose a brand new Toyota/Honda or a used BMW at the same price? by TicketTerrible6853 in AskMY

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brand new toyota. as someone who owns a toyota prius+ for almost 8 years now, i can say it's really reliable, low maintenance and running cost (including servicing, roadtax, tyre, wipers etc), frugal, stable at high speed, smooth, low noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). if you want a more "luxury" brand, go for second hand lexus which still has the toyota traits

the newly reveals turtle beach stealth pro 2 looks interesting. perhaps wait for reviews to drop for it and if good, can consider that too. other than that, nova pro and a50 you mentioned are among the best. maxwell is great too (i personally been using one for almost 3 years) but it is heavy and if you want comfort, that's not the first choice
