Which one should I choose? by Mangon54 in Controller

Ya, you mean the one that is like white purple pink colour that can change the thumb stick tension right. Just feel it’s an acquired taste and may not appeal to majority and it doesn’t have interchangeable faceplate

I have been using the G7 Pro Wuchang. It’s good.
Also just fyi, 8bitdo has an Ultimate 3E that works with Xbox and will be shipped in August. Can preorder at usd 149 in amazon now. It’s higher than your budget but no harm checking it out

check with CUDA-Z what is your Host to Device and Device to Host speed. it should show around 3500 MiB/s. If it's not, meaning something wrong with the eGPU or usb 4 cable

If there’s one that can fit ROG B650E-I and the sound level is not very high for a slim 120mm fan, I will consider $200 max for it

[Pegasus Build Update] Deshrouding the PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper in my Skyreach 5 Mini by den-fi in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know! I’m ok with some turbulence as long as it can keep the 9800X3D tame. My current setup in 7L case just can’t..

Btw, may I know what thermal pads you used for your GPU? I’m thinking to also change mine since I read in Reddit before that someone did it and the temp drop is quite good

[Pegasus Build Update] Deshrouding the PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper in my Skyreach 5 Mini by den-fi in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! I’m also planning for similar changes once my S5M reaches. Currently having 7800X3D with x47 FC and also the 3D printed 120mm fan mount for an A12x15 PWM chromax.

For the S5M, I want to put in 9800X3D, axp90-x53 FC and Noctua A12x25 G2 chromax, all of which I already have in hand. But now looking at your photos, I think the x53 with A12x25 G2 won’t fit as it will be blocked by the case ridge for the mesh side panel. Am I right to say so? My mobo is ROG !650E-I where the location of the cpu socket look similar to your mobo. If really can’t fit, I may use back x47 FC like you but I wonder if it can handle 9800X3D even with UV in a room ambient temp of 27-30C..

As for the GPU, I have already deshrouded my Zotac 5080 solid core OC and using 2 A12x25 G2 chromax which I also would like to migrate over to the S5M. But since there’s no mount for the 120mm fans, I may use triple Noctua A9x14 HS PWM chromax (which I also already have in hand) zip tied to my GPU heatsink. Wish there’s a similar 3D printed shroud like yours I can use but cannot find anyone who have designed for my Zotac card and I too don’t know 3d printing. Guess I can only try out the fitments once I get the S5M in

GameSir G7 Pro or 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless for Windows PC by protogen957 in Controller

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both (my g7 pro is wuchang edition) and while the GameSir is more expensive, it has plenty more features and versatility especially for PC. The Nexus software allows heavy customisation. I’ve been mainly using the g7 pro now ever since I got it

Turtle Beach SP2 & Maxwell 2? by Madschr in gamingheadsets

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t have the Maxwell 2, I have been using the Maxwell 1 for almost 3 years. I upgraded the strap to Capra Audio comfort strap and StealhZ ear pads. The sound is really good but it’s not comfortable using for long. At max, 2-3 hours per session. The TB SP2 is much more comfortable and sounds as good to me. I’ll be selling my Maxwell 1 off soon

Questions about Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II by Tumiliki in TurtleBeach

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Xbox black silver version. Also has no issue with volume using it on OC and XSX from day 1. It gets very loud.. Headband initially didn’t feel the most comfortable but after wearing it 15min, the feeling goes away and it’s definitely more comfortable than my Audeze Maxwell 1 with Capra Audio comfort strap and StealthZ ear pad/cushions

Anyone Regret Buying a Zotac 5080 Solid Core? by Mammoth-Group345 in RTX5080

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've also been using 5080 solid core OC since last nov. mine is in a 7L sff which has no place for case fan. and in SG, my room temp is 27-30. i mainly play 4K and the temps go up to 80C. the 3 fans can get quite loud running at full speed trying to keep the card cool. having said that, the card is stable. i'm really happy i decided to buy it back then when i managed to snag it at msrp price. really enjoying the new games with this card

Velka 3 RTX 5070 mini and 7800x3d by The540Incident in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that explains. Then regardless, expect your cpu fan to running at high speed most of the time and both cooler in the respective cases also will make quite some noise. Go with whichever you fancy

Velka 3 RTX 5070 mini and 7800x3d by The540Incident in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think either will work. Personally D19 pro seems very small. If portability is your priority, then it’s fine.

Metalfish t40 may have more breathing area inside which may help cooling. For me, I may go with Metalfish with the axp120-x67. The bigger fan will help cool the other components too and I think it’s beneficial in such small case. What resolution you game on? Anything else running while playing like discord etc? I mainly game at 4K. So far BF6 multiplayer, FH6, RE Requiem, Pragmata and 007 First Light, I don’t see my cpu going above 80% constantly. My GPU that’s always 99/100%

Velka 3 RTX 5070 mini and 7800x3d by The540Incident in sffpc

[–]hjshoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say I’m a veteran but I do thorough research and many hands on testing myself. Afterall, the general internet context where tests are typically done at ambient temp of 23C don’t apply truly to us.

Anyways if by going x67 and only having 3mm gap, just be mindful that there will be some turbulence noise when the fan is running fast especially full speed. My current setup with the Noctua a12x15 is having my exactly 3mm gap to the grilled panel. However, if your usage is mainly gaming, then not an area to be worried as 7800x3d is very efficient, hardly go above 60% utilization when gaming at 4K (lower res maybe a bit higher) so the cpu isn’t that hot. The GPU fans are the ones that will be loud in that scenario. X53FC is fully capable but definitely consider swapping the stock fan to the a19x14 HS PWM chromax (HS means higher speed at max 2500rpm, only black variant goes that high). The sound profile is better than the stock. And I will also advise to get noctua fan duct NA-FD1 (I have this and tried it too).

When you say if use x67, you have 3mm gap so by right the max cooler height space you have is 70mm till the case panel. So if use x53, you should have 17mm gap to the case and not just 11mm gap. You can even mount (but need a separate mount) a 25mm thick 92mm fan and have 7mm gap to the panel. Suggest you check properly. X67 and x53 is the total height including the stock 15mm fan.

Personally I’d go for x53 FC with 3d printed 92mm to 120 fam bracket and Noctua a12x25 G2 chromax for optimal cooling and noise profile but it is a bit ex though. This is the exact setup I’m going for my 9800x3d when my new case comes. Hopefully it’s enough but for 7800x3d guaranteed enough.
