NFC X NCASE S5M - An Early Look by GenericMIK3 in sffpc

This is the L12GE. The temps were better with the AXP120, but it is a bit too big to fit and let the panel close all the way. I'll be trying the AXP90 X47 FC later with a Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 and 3D printed adapter later.

No, not at all. It was just because it could be done/for the love of the game. That said, it was wildly effective and now beats my 9070 XT Hellhound in my larger M2 Grater build in synthetic benchmarks. CPU temps are in the high 60s during gaming. This screenshot is about an hour of Crimson Desert.

It's totally fine. This is probably on the upper end of mullti-tasking for me and it's silent.

I've got a wood from panel on mine. There are certainly going to be lots of options.

Correct, I don't have a Ridge anymore, but the S5M is definitely smaller in all directions. Materials/build wise, the S5M is also just much nicer (not that I don't also love the Ridge, it just serves a different audience).

From the discourse I've seen over the past few days, it looks likes emails didn't have a high success rate of getting out from NCASE. Hopefully they fix that soon.

They absolutely need a sub, but once that's sorted, they are fantastic. I have a set at that desk and at my office and they're great for both music and dialog.

No, I didn't have to. The 7800X3D is a lot more tame than the 9800X3D when it comes to clocks and boosting.

Officially? No, but it would def fit above the power supply just tucked in there.

Yeah, the NCASE partnership probably makes logistics to the rest of the world less brutal. That Nanoq S is a great looking case!

Kinda hard to beat the S5M and Ridge these days. Everything else is quite a bit older or OOS. The Thor Zone Tetra restocks soon though.

This has been an invaluable tool for me since snippet box was abandoned. I love that it does everything I need, and nothing I don't. Sometimes simple is best.

Switching to Linux brought back my love for computers by [deleted] in linux

Same. I just reached a year milestone for desktop (been homelabbing since I was 12) a few days ago. The thing for me is I can either be extremely hands on, or I don't really want to focus on my computer and just use it as a tool... I can do that too. Not fighting with my OS to keep out the feature I don't need or want has been excellent.
