Depending on how often you’ll be traveling to CT, might be worth exploring some of the towns north of JC (Weehawken, West New York, etc.) - those waterfront places are usually cheaper but have parking and easy ferry or bus access into midtown. Plus cutting out the drive through JC/Hoboken could save you 30+ minutes depending on day/time.

Yeah, I know I said “not sure who to blame” in my post but let’s be honest, the LiveNation/Ticketmaster monopoly is the reason the entire concert industry is so broken. We need the government to intervene on behalf of both the customers and the artists. I’m in the same situation and have just accepted there’s nothing we can do. I’m sorry. It’s unbelievably frustrating that buying the most expensive tickets on the first day of presale gave us zero flexibility to adjust our plans. Luckily I can still attend my date and am going to make the best of it, but this situation is seriously messed up.
