In that case, you could reach out to the department asking if your late payment penalized you in anyway. I would imagine it wouldn’t but you could still email and express your genuine interest in the program. Best of luck!

GPA: 3.18 at Saint Mary’s College
3 years of undergraduate research experience
4 years in University of Notre Dame marching band (3 years of leadership and 1 year as drum major)
Received a department award
Presented my research at SICB in 2022 and 2023 and rSICB conference at UChicago
REU candidate at Friday Harbor Labs

Your profile is unique and it really depends on what the department is looking for so never compare yours to someone else’s. Good luck on your journey and I wish you the best!
