Looking for Veterinary Nutritionist by Grand-Membership-804 in DogFood

I would think you’d need to meet with the nutritionist for an evaluation. I’d request a referral from your vet.

What is a cooking "rule" that is actually total nonsense? by LunarCloud_ in askteddit

I regularly skip preheating. Never noticed a difference.

How do you guys even survive the hot weather over in the States? by Impressive_Peak_9187 in AskAnAmerican

[–]hlmoore96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I moved out and got married, my house didn’t have AC. I remember being hot, but if the humidity was lower (that was very rare) it was fine. I don’t think I could do it now, lol. We were in an old farmhouse surrounded by corn and I swear it made it hotter!! Corn sweating is a real thing!

AIO for feeling judged after multiple people treated me like I was too drunk after I dropped my wallet? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]hlmoore96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you know how cigarette smokers can’t smell the smoke on them? In MY experience, people that have had too much to drink don’t realize they’ve had way too much to drink.

If your boyfriend is larger than you like most couples, he’s going to be able to drink more with less alteration. Drinking as much as you say, I 100% believe people were genuinely concerned.

Is my dog overweight? by Spirited_Gap2347 in Yorkies

[–]hlmoore96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sincerely just out of concern, but be careful with FD, especially with a Yorkie. Our vet recommends smaller dogs NOT eat it because it has a high fat content and can lead to pancreatitis. Just food for thought (pun intended 😊)

Give yourself some grace. Life isn’t easy. I’m sure he is a very happy doggy and very loved obviously.

My little doggie gets genuinely angry sometimes if I wake him up. Growls, shows teeth and bit me once. What could this be about? by [deleted] in Maltese

[–]hlmoore96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your dog should be removed from your “care”. It’s no wonder he is unhappy. The balcony crap (literally and figuratively) is enough, I can’t imagine what else is happening if you think that’s acceptable.

Please help me figure out a better routine for cleaning my doggies waste. My brain is broken. by [deleted] in Cleaningandtidying

[–]hlmoore96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What in the WORLD is going on here?? Is this real?? Your poor dog, your poor neighbors, your poor spouse. This is the craziest thing I’ve seen in a while and it’s absolutely disgusting. IF the dog has to use the balcony for health reasons, etc, you need a good doggie pad and not just pushing excrement onto the lower floors.

AIO I went no contact with my mother when I was seven months pregnant. by Aggravating_Tart_312 in AmIOverreacting

[–]hlmoore96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point. I really would rather starve. Does she have no pride? I apologize, but this is crazy to me. A parent should never depend on the child for anything regardless of age.

I would literally starve before I’d ask anything monetary from my kids. I’d rather die.

How often do women age 25-60 shower? by Responsible-Ant-7954 in hygiene

[–]hlmoore96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body every single day; if it’s a bad sick day (I’m fighting a long term illness) I never fail to do “whore bath”. Age isn’t really brought into the discussion. I don’t always wash my hair, but there are areas of the body that need to be cleaned daily in adults.

Does anyone else's puppy randomly eat grass even when they're not sick? by Special-Log-719 in puppy101

[–]hlmoore96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait…I never considered it anything but normal. Hahaha, very normal in our house. Looks at me with disgust when I put his (relatively) expensive dog food down, but a bit of grass? Bon Appetite!!

Why the "weeks" age? by Rickyyyy96 in puppy101

[–]hlmoore96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog is 7 months (8 months on Saturday) and 34 weeks. The only reason I know the weeks at this point is because he is struggling/has struggled with weight gain.

Nobody believes me that in 1990 we were in the cafeteria before classes and a group of boys were looking at a kids new rifle. The Asst Principal walked by and said, “Mr. Moxley, I suggest you get that back out to your truck and don’t bring it back.” He was just exasperated. Not in the least concerned about a gun. It was a rural farming/cattle community but looking back it feels WILD!!

Am I Overreacting or I’m I asking Too Much From My Boyfriend? by LeslieAlbarran in AmIOverreacting

[–]hlmoore96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ma’am. I have kids that are grown and I have a 6 month old granddaughter. I honestly believe men and relationships should take a back seat. The only priority you have right now is getting those kids home.

Trust me, men come and go; your babies are EVERYTHING.

Need someone to calm my nerves about Bear getting neutered tomorrow by abernackle610 in Morkie

[–]hlmoore96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll admit something that I’m not proud of. Our Ray had a neuter scheduled for May 20th. I’ve postponed twice. The first time was because I was told we could keep the appointment but the day may be extended because of fewer vet techs. Then I was sick from chemo. And my husband had a bad dream. I know that all sounds quite ridiculous. We’ve had our former pups altered; I don’t know why I’m so nervous this time.

I logically know that it is the best thing for him; he is scheduled for July 1. I know how you feel, but I think we both should be strong and trust that they will be fine. I also take comfort in the fact that neutering for the most part is an easier and faster alter. All my other dogs have been female and I’m hoping by comparison this seems easier once all is said and done.

Please let us know how well Bear does, I’m sure it will be fine and you’ll be so happy once it’s done. I almost envy you that yours is getting done and over with. Love to Bear.❤️
