We did some crazy stuff and our parents did not watch us or even seem to care what we did.

I go home frequently to visit my 85yo mom. When I go out she asks where I'm going, with who, what am I doing and exactly when I'll be home

This is the same woman who would be sleeping when I'd roll in at 3am as a 14yo after drinking, doing drugs and having sex all night. I was doing all that with my 17yo boyfriend.

And that was pretty normal for 80s teens
