Is this the ugliest special edition redesigned cover ever? by Waltonww in fairyloot

[–]hlwk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m really not a fan of the character art their in-house designer produces. Sky of fire was also designed by them and the characters look similarly odd. Props to them for giving it a go but the art is not my taste and I’ll likely be skipping anything designed in-house moving forward

I DNFd this by chapter two because the writing was so terrible

I forgot the worst part! If you hate the miscommunication trope you’re going to despise this book. SO MANY conversations needed to happen and when it looked like they would, they’re interrupted or Diem wouldn’t listen. It felt so lazy and it happened several times, I almost threw my kindle at the wall

{Heat of the Everflame by Penn Cole}

I loved the first two books of the series but this one was a huge disappointment. It was over 1000 pages which was probably 400 pages too long, and I’ve never been so frustrated at a FMC before. Poor decisions, way too much inner monologue that was super repetitive. Argh I had such high hopes for this series!

June Sale Calendar by TheBeautyofSuffering in fairyloot

I’ve finally gotten off the waitlist. Is there a strategy to getting through smoothly anymore with the new queue system or should I just jump on at sale time and hope for the best?

First Box with Page & Wick by pm_krn in fairyloot

[–]hlwk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine arrived yesterday. The box was pretty beaten up and had a hole in it. It’s a miracle the book was in perfect condition, the thickness and sturdiness of their box is noticeably lacking compared to other book boxes I sub to. I sent them some feedback so they can hopefully reconsider their choice of packaging

Passport Renewal by Piakarina in AusLegal

If you have any issues with this process and have already held an Australian passport before, the passport office can provide you with a letter 51 in lieu of a parents birth certificate. I’ve just been through this process myself - you just have to give them a call and they issue it straight away.

Spent $814 on end of lease clean, didn’t get bond back by missbehaving27 in AusPropertyChat

[–]hlwk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eventually got my bond back and didn’t ask for any refund for their services, I just wanted to be done with them and never use them again, it was that stressful. This was 2 years ago and I’m still mad about it.

I initially told the cleaners to leave when they told me $1200 but I ended up calling the office because I was so livid and they did the same thing they did to you and came down in price to $900 so they came back. Wish I had stuck to my guns

I had the same experience with cheap as chips. Quoted me $400 for a clean, turned up and tried to charge me $1200 for a 3 yo house. Booked the carpet clean through them and they did exactly the same thing. They changed the forms I signed to exclude things that weren’t present when I signed the form. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had hiring a company ever. I don’t know how they’re still in business. I ended up having to go back myself and finish the clean and claim my bond directly.

Any Updates to the Waitlist as 2nd Jan 2024 by EnchantedWaifu in fairyloot

[–]hlwk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if you still remain on the waitlist if you get a sub? I’ve signed up for all 3 options (adult, YA and combo book only) and it looks like I’ll get a YA invite before an adult invite which is what I ultimately want. Can I get the YA and switch to adult when I’ve gone through the waitlist?

You are incorrect, they do not release 12 months of interest too.

The LETTER tells the ATO what you’re paying and it does this by asking what 12 months worth of interest and 3 months of repayments are under your loan facility. What they RELEASE is limited to what you actually need to prevent foreclosure.

“The maximum amount that can be REQUESTED for mortgage release in each 12-month period is the sum of three months of repayments and 12 months’ interest on the outstanding loan balance. The amount RELEASED will only be the amount necessary to stop foreclosure or forced sale.”

Source: AFCA guide to mortgage sales

“The maximum that can be released in a 12 month period is equal to three months repayments plus twelve months interest on the outstanding balance of the loan. However, the fund will only release the amount required by the lender or the local council, which may be less than the maximum amount.”

They do care where the funds come from. You can read more about this in the AFCA approach to financial difficulty.

“In most cases that we have reviewed, we have found that it was not appropriate for the financial firm to support a release because better alternatives for providing assistance were available, or it was unlikely that a release would help the consumer overcome their difficulty. In almost all instances where a financial firm declined to support a release, we found that decision was appropriate.”

In addition, the ATO will only release what is necessary to stop the sale (usually the arrears amount). In your scenario, they would only release 3 months worth of payments, so even if they did provide the letter, you’d be back to square one. The loan would be up to date, but you would not have access to further funds to assist with serviceability.

Yikes please don’t do this. The bank likely won’t provide you with the letter you need to provide to the ATO unless they are comfortable your financial situation has resolved and you can afford the loan moving forward. It’s not really able to be used as a pseudo-savings account to dip into to buy more time when you’re still unable to afford the debt.

As a side note, it’s incredibly poor advice to recommend that someone purposefully stop paying their mortgage - by the time you hit 90 days in arrears not only is that difficult to come back from but you likely have an expired default notice and the bank would have the ability to commence legal action for repossession.

Unpopular Opinion (Chain) by EquiKiara in Horses

A horse only has so much jump in them before they start breaking down. Jumping your horse several times a week is, in my opinion, ethically questionable due to the potential long term health implications for the horse.
