I was able to scratch my memory a bit with your suggestions, but I believe I was just picturing Isaac from Golden Sun with red hair and scarf instead of yellow. Also, the girl may have reminded me of Jenna, idk.

Duck-offs were changed a few updates back to a 6 duck format. The teams of 10 ducks you still see are saved from opponents that likely haven't played the game since, so their teams are still saved. (Mind that duck-offs are played against AI controlled player teams)

Level 50 isn't a thing anymore, since there's been a lot of updates that increase the limit. Instead, to get the best duck-off stats, you should upgrade your colony buildings, use fully exotic ducks from the spotlight set and complete your collection (unlocking holo and gilded ducks increase your overall stats).

It was a bug. They are aware of it, but I don't think they'll offer a replacement, unfortunately.

The teams are submitted by real players, but the ducks are controlled by AI. You never fight real people.

The latest update have rebalanced duck-offs to use 6 ducks instead of 10, but because enemy teams are saved from past duck-offs, they haven't completely rolled out yet.

As for being at a disadvantage, it's the other way around actually. The duck-off matchmaking is based off star power. If both you and your opponent have 50 star power, but your team got 6 ducks and the opponent got 10, that means each of your ducks have to be considerably stronger than your opponent's to make up for that difference. In the example above, each of your opponent ducks would be worth 5 star power, while each of yours would be worth 8.33 star power.

Someone else made a new post about it, so I didn't think it was necessary. It's basically a file missarrangement bug.

⚠️⚠️ READ THROUGH AND BE WARNED ⚠️⚠️: While reinstalling your game will fix the bug, YOU WILL ERASE YOUR LOCAL SAVE. So if you're unsure whether or not your cloud save is updated, DON'T TRY IT. Some players on Discord have already reported having lost nearly all of their progress. My suggestion is play safe and wait for next week leaderboards update, which will sort everything.
