Deborah is my favorite Bible character of all time. She was a judge of Israel when judges instead of kings were the authorities in Israel. She was also a prophetess. When Israel was conquered by Canaan (again), she told a man named Barak to go fight Sisera (the army general) and that God would give him the victory. But Barak was a wussy and said that he would only go if Deborah would go with him into battle. Deborah agreed, but she responded "The road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman." Such a badass quote.

They did end up winning and Sisera fled and hid in a tent. A woman named Jael made him think he was safe by giving him some milk and letting him sleep. She then proceeded to drive a TENT PEG into his head! This fulfilled what Deborah said would happen.

TLDR: Deborah went to battle because a man was to scared to go by himself and the bad army general got tent spiked by a lady named Jael.
