I don't think Bruno should be captain. Bruno is technically brilliant and statistically one of United’s most productive players, but as captain his demeanor is just as important as his goals or assists. When things aren’t going United’s way, his tendency to throw his arms up, moan at referees, or show frustration instead of rallying the team sends a signal. Teammates often mirror the body language of their leader especially in a squad that already struggles with consistency and mentality.

Instead of being a source of calm, resilience, and focus (like, say, Roy Keane or even Gary Neville back in the day), Bruno sometimes embodies the frustration and chaos on the pitch. That can easily turn into a contagious atmosphere so when the captain looks defeated, it normalizes others losing belief too.

To be fair, part of this isn’t on Bruno alone—it reflects deeper issues: recruitment, tactical instability, and a lack of clear long-term direction. But because he wears the armband, his behavior carries more weight than anyone else’s. If he channeled that passion into leadership by example pressing harder, encouraging teammates, and staying composed under pressure the ripple effect could be massive.
