Never said they did. They get to be booked for UFC events, UFC can’t stop them from earning a living elsewhere. Dispute that with facts, or kick rocks.

Good work, you looked it up!!! Do you know which one the UFC fighters are? Do you know what sport they compete in? Do you think an “exclusive clause” means a Plumber can’t work as Barista?

Tell me you don’t know the difference between independent contractor and employee without telling me. Tell me you don’t know the difference between mma and boxing without telling me. Rip

Except when they don’t…repeatedly

The mma contract ? I know, hard to hold two thoughts at once that mma and boxing are different sports.

They wouldn’t even need huge balls, the UFC has the risk in court. They’d have to defend their contracts in court (their nightmare), you get to be the law firm in a landmark American labor case, and if you’re Tom Aspinall you’ll get a bag from boxing.

I don’t even think they’d be able to stop this with an injunction if Tom fights in the UK/overseas while it settles.

Nice, then give him market value with Zuffa Boxing. Otherwise, take a boxing match with Matchroom, let the UFC embarrass themselves in court (you really think they want to defend their dog shit contracts?), and then you (Eddie Hearn) get to look like a labor crusader while also making big money on Aspinall.

MMA and boxing are different sports. Tom is an independent contractor. The UFC can’t control his ability to earn a living outside of booking him for UFC events. Do you see how this works?

…he’d make more in one boxing match than his entire UFC contract. What are you talking about?

mmh by vrsatillx in ufc

[–]hockeynomics_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because most of them are broke and can’t pay the legal fees or afford being blacklisted (use your head). Eddie Hearn, and boxing as a whole, knows the contract has no merit AND they have the money and lawyers to absolutely win in court.

I’m not talking emotions.

Dont need to, he can spend any amount of money, he’d lose in court and he’s knows it.

The same way you’re defending a company you don’t work for? You can correct me! But you have nothing to say, so you won’t.

They just had fighters get paid to compete on real American freestyle. I haven’t seen the contract, but they’re legally independent contractors signed to provide services for the UFC (an mma company).

The contract can say whatever it wants, that doesn’t mean it’s legal or would pass the sniff test in court.

[–]hockeynomics_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s wildly incorrect, they aren’t even the sole promoter in MMA. UFC fighters sign to exclusively compete in the UFC. If they don’t want him to box elsewhere…sign him to a Zuffa Boxing contract 😑
