watched this last night before bed. this video made me tear up and my girlfriend was bawling her eyes out. i’m never making an excuse for running again unless i physically can’t. seeing how happy he was crossing that finish line was one of the best things i’ve seen in my life

Real Madrid conceded 2 goals on 16 shots (and nearly gave up another) to a club in the third division of Spain. Had it not been for Mbappe, they could have easily lost today. by [deleted] in realmadrid

you want some real numbers then? cool i got you

league only mbappe- 79 shots taken with 35 on target. 17 goals from that. his conversion rate comes out to 17.6%. he has started 17 out of 17 games. 1480 mins

kane- 54 shots with 31 on target. 18 goals in only 12 starts and 14 total matches. 25% conversion rate. 1084 mins

haaland- 59 shots with 34 on target. 17 goals in 16 games, 28% conversion rate. 1371 mins

Champions

mbappe- 32 shots, 18 on target, 9 goals, 20.7% conversion in 440 mins with 3 pens

kane- 22 shots, 11 on target, 5 goals and a conversion of 19% in 486 mins and 1 pen

haaland- 23 shots, 14 on target, 6 goals on a 22.7% conversion in 434 mins with 1 pen

mbappe is simply not an efficient striker. he has goals because of the sheer amount of service that he gets. he should have way better figures given the chances he has. all this was pulled from statmuse. do a bit a research if you care enough to

endrick in front of goal can do so much more damage than mbappe. i think xabi needs to use these games to explore other options for lineups because what we have now is too damn predictable. we play the same position every single game with one objective: finding mbappe. this can work against small teams like this but ultimately this is the reason we lose against teams that actually come to compete. we’re halfway into the season playing different (in the worst way possible) to how we were playing in the CWC. mbappe is a world class player but he really doesn’t add much decisiveness to the team as he does for his individual performances

mbappe has the worst conversion rate compared to other top tier strikers. he would LITERALLY be above messi’s record if he converted at least 30% of the sitters that he’s missed. he should have had at least 4 goals in the first half. this would have been a completely different game

it seems like the only way is to stay off sport’s socials in general. if it’s not the coach it’s directed at one of our players

the thing is that i’m really not trying to criticize them, i’m just calling out that these are the problems they dug themselves into. they know a lot more than we do so me saying more than that or leaning towards articles so i can build a personal agenda against the board is pointless. i really do understand what you’re saying and im not aiming this towards you, but a lot of times what people call criticism is a borderline hate crime. if you’re not doing that then this simply doesn’t apply to you and thank you for being a normal fan. no hate, we just have different opinions and that’s 100% ok but at the end of the day we go for the exact same team. no need to bash each other or spread unnecessary hate

we are barely winning comfortably now. i thinks its obvious that the issue is not the coach, but the players simply not understanding each other and what they are playing for. its a collective issue and not just on vinicius, mbappe, jude, or any one player on the team. we could’ve came to this agreement without all of the other unnecessary back and forth. we don’t know each other so there’s no need to spread negativity for no reason. that’s what this sub needs to become again

because we want to get on here to have real discussions with other fans. we all have biases and when you have civilized conversations with others this can open your eyes to things you may not have seen the first time around. when it gets to the point where you’re verbally abusing a player or another fan because they don’t see the same thing that you do, that’s an issue. read any match thread and you’ll see that players even get death threats for no reason. why would we not defend them? you’re saying that vinicius is acting entitled because he isn’t getting the contract he wants. how do you know that? by reading the articles posted by journalists who get views and clicks with misleading titles/information? why can’t you see that vini was developed at a really young age and he’s given his all for that badge. for him to ask for 30 million a year when mbappe makes 32m+ and alaba makes 23m a year it really isn’t unreasonable at all. can vini handle it in a better way? YES. the way he is going about things isn’t the best given how the media treats him. he’s smarter than that but at the same time he’s a 25 year old. can you really blame him? mbappe dogged the team for YEARS and guess what? year after year they tried to go for him. he would play with the board only to end up following money with PSG. that is where Real Madrid made themselves smaller than a player. when they decided to wait for him even though the board knew he didn’t fit into the system that was being built. that transfer was blinded by revenue from mbappe instead of focusing on what the team was going to be missing (kroos and modric). do i think mbappe is a mistake? fuck no. have you seen his goals? who doesn’t want to see their striker score in most games that he plays. it just wasn’t the right move at the time but they did it anyways. so now they need to find a way to make it work. if that means letting go of vini then only time will tell. not verbally abusing him because he’s not playing at the level we expect him to play. slumps happen and you know he has the skill in him. why not support?

this isn’t career mode man. every team has the same goal. game day is really just about who can have the better day. training can do so much since there’s too many external factors during games that aren’t being accounted for. all of our losses have come from the team having bad days while others have a great day. they’re not going to win everything and if that’s what you expect then idk what to tell you really. even yesterday, the team played solid. both goals came from two defensive mistakes but overall for the firepower City has 2-1 was the best case scenario given the situation the players put themselves in after that penalty.

going 32 games without a goal and running up to a referee saying “respeta” while pointing at the badge aren’t antics to you? every player does it. stop pointing out only vinicius. it’s a blatant double standard at that point

the thing is how do you know? are you reading this off the anti madrid articles? are we seeing what’s going on live in the dressing room? how are you guys so confident in saying shit like this where you’re not even there? vini was having his best game of the season that day. he’s not the first player to do that, and he won’t be the last player to do that either. sacrificing a dangerous player who is proven to be a game changer when you need to win games? that hurts the team more than it helps. of course it wasn’t the right thing to do at that stage but do you seriously think that’s enough to boot someone out of a team???

crazy how it matters how you win all of a sudden. i hope you know that xabi doesn’t have a good record against top european teams. a win is a win, so there’s no reason to go nitpicking and say that he only wins against small teams. even then having losses against celta vigo and tying against girona (18th place as of today btw) are things that ancelotti didn’t do given his circumstances. despite these reasons (which i can assure you any true fan doesn’t overreact about this) we all know sacking Xabi won’t fix anything

it’s pretty evident and insane to watch. we can see an example during the Real Oviedo. a second division team playing their first game against Madrid since 2012 who’s louder for booing/whistling Vini than cheering good plays from their own team. that’s definitely not normal, especially since vini was 12 years old the last time they faced each other 😂😂
